The customer (**** ********) provided a cheque to Paramount Permanent Roofing in the amount of $7000 on July 16th, 2022. No labours were performed and no materials were reserved or provided by the company. The customer never received a complete copy of the agreement. The company provided addresses of job sites on the shingle. After visiting sites, the customer was unimpressed. Repeatedly, the customer requested deposit to be returned as early as August 15th, 2022. The customer repeatedly contacted the business and was told all communication had to go through the same representative, Patrick S. Communications were prolonged due to the Patrick’s *************** *** unavailability. When communications were reestablished, the representative insisted new metal shingles were being developed by the company, at no extra cost. In good faith, the customer agreed to these terms. On May 1st, 2023, the representative continued to promote the original shingle. After an phone conversation, the customer continued to reiterate a return of his deposit. The representative texted the customer with alternatives from other suppliers. In continuous good faith, the customer reviewed the potentials. On May 20th, 2023 customer and representative had a discussion. In the conversation, the customer repeated his request for his deposit to be returned. The representative stated the return of the deposit was not necessary, as the new agreed shingle would be more or less the same cost as the original agreement. In good faith, the customer settled on a new shingle. However, the representative told the customer, specifications of the project had changed and an additional $25,000 was required. The customer again requested the return of the deposit. The representative refuses and continues to state the customer is obligated to complete the project. Continuously, the representative negotiates with the deposit in hand, despite the customer requesting its return.Business response

This customer ordered custom made metal roofing which we produced for him in august 2022 to be installed. He then reconsidered his material choice and asked us to provide expensive imported materials and changed the scope of work to include extensive structural reframing of his home. He delayed us installing his project for a total of 11 months and then demanded we cancel his written contract without even speaking with us directly. We have attempted to call, email and text the customer many times to help resolve this issue but he will not pick up the phone or return any of our communications. We request he calls Patrick at ###-###-#### to speak about the issue for an easy resolution.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Paramount Permanent Roofing did not present or disclose refund policy and did not provide a full copy of the contract. The business retained the inital deposit, under the 25% mandatory threshold on all orders, with no labour or product provided.
Unable to reach an agreement due to irreconcilable differences.
