I went to oneils to check my car alternator and he checked my charging system. He said it was my battery, he didn't ask me if I wanted my battery replaced. He put a new battery in threw my old battery away. He over charged me. He gave me back my car and I still had the same problem the car wouldn't start the next day. I called him and told him the car is doing the same thing he just gave me attitude and hung up on me. I brought it back to oneils to show him what it was doing. I asked him for my old battery back and he said it was gone l. He wanted to check more things said I might need more parts so I brought it to ******** **** they checked it and said it was the starter. I paid $654 to ******** **** to check and change the starter. Problem solved. I never signed anything for ***** to changed anything. I would of never agreed to pay $353.63 to change my battery. I would of did it myself. My battery installation is gone now and he broke 2 clips. He did a terrible job terrible service and terrible customer service.Business response

ON MAY 29 2023 ****** ******* CAME INTO MY SHOP AND TOLD ME THAT HIS BATTERY NEEDED TO BE BOOSTED IN ORDER TO START HIS CAR AND ASKED ME IF I WOULD CHECK IT OUT FOR HIM TO SEE IF IT NEEDED ALTENATOR,SO WE CHECK THE CHARGING SYSTEM AND IT WAS CHARGING AT 14 VOLTS,SO THEN WE LOAD TEST THE BATTERY AND FOUND IT TO BE BAD ,SO I CONTACTED ****** & TOLD HIM HE NEEDED A BATTERY NOT ALTERNATOR AND HE GAVE PERMISSION TO REPLACE THE BATTERY,AFTER THAT THE 2010 CADI CST WAS STARTING FIND,THE NEW BATTERY COMES WITH A 20.00 CORE AND MR ******* DID NOT WANT TO PAY THE EXTRA 20.00 FOR THE BATTERY CORE SO WE SENT IT BACK TO ********** FOR THE CORE CHARGE, SIX DAYS LATER MR ******* CALL ME AND SAID THAT THE CAR WAS TURNING OVER SLOWLY SO I ASKED HIM TO BRING IT BACK SO WE COULD CHECK THE CAR OVER TOSEE IF IT HAD ANOTHER PROBLEM,WHEN HE BROUGHT IT BACK WE CHECK THE NEW BATTERY AND FOUND IT TO BE ALRIGHT AND THEN RECHECKED THE ALTERNATOR AND FOUND IT TO BE STILL CHARGING AT 14 VOLTS,AT THIS POINT ADVISED MR ******* AT WE SHOULD CHECK THE STARTER AND HE REFUSED TO LET US CHECK THE STARTER AND SAID HE WOULD DO THAT HIMSELF,WE DIDNT CHARGE MR ******* FOR THIS SECOND CHECK OF HIS CAR AND HE LEFT MADCustomer response

There was no mention of a 20.00 core charge. There is no credit for the core on the receipt/invoice. Why would u ask for my old battery back if I agreed not to pay the core. I paid fulled price plus mark up for the part source battery plus he kept the core. He has no signature or ok to do any work on my car. I have phone records and receipts showing the car was doing the same thing not starting 2 days later. I have attached the phone records of me calling him June 1st about the car not starting still. I have receipt from ******** **** on June 5th 2023 of the actual problem. After the starter was changed problem was solved. I have attached the receipt for ******** ****. After ******** **** changed the starter my check motor went out. I called him a day after I dropped it off because I didn't hear anything from *****. I told him not to do anything to the car he said it's fixed that's what you brought it here for. In order to get my car I had to pay. Apond picking it up me and my girlfriend noticed it didn't want to start. ***** said I changed your battery it was not the alternator I saved you money.Business response

first of all I did not charge him for the core charge of the new battery,not sure why he didnt understand that the battery that was so week that it wouldnt turn the engine over needed to be replaced before any other diagnostic test could be done and when the car came into the garage it had a battery light on and after load testing the old battery to confirm that it was in fact faulty, we installed a new battery and the battery light went out and the car was starting fine, when he came to pick up the car their was no complaint from him at the time about the car, it wasnt until a few days later that he phoned and said he was having problems and I told him to bring it in and I would check it out for him and told him after looking at it out in the parking lot that it may need a starter and was ready to bring it in & confirm that was the problem, but he told me that he would do it himself, I think that he was angry because he thought that he should of realized that he should of changed the battery himself and then realized that putting a starter on his car would not be as easy as he thought,it would beCustomer response

The battery light was never on the check motor light was on. I didnt bring it there because the car wouldn't start broughtit there because the car was turning over slow. When I picked it up the car was still Turning over slow. ***** was rude the whole time that's why I tried to talk to him but couldn't. Last time i tried to talk to him he just walked away. My girlfriend was there as a witness. Core charge was never ever mentioned and is not on any paperwork. Me saying ok for him to change the battery is NOT on any paperwork. All I asked him to do was check the car and tell me what is wrong with it. As the car was running and starting the only light that was on was the check motor light. When I picked it up the check motor light was still on after he so called fixed it. A few days later with a new battery the car wouldn't start at all without a boost. There was no difference the way the car was starting after ***** put the new battery in. I question if the mechanic that worked on the car is a licensed mechanic. After ******** **** changed the starter there was no check motor light and everything has been great since. I never agreed for ***** to do any of the work on the car. I brought it there for him to tell Me what's wrong with the car not fix anything. I never signed off on any repairs to be done. ***** has the worst customer service ever and a very bad attitude.
