Fawn Group Construction enticed me into a contract to build an indoor riding arena with a low quote. The owner kepts saying they needed milestone payments to get trusses built and to order materials. After numerous delays this contractor subcontracted out a small portion and has since kept the rest of the milestone payments <$125,000 and will not pay back. * ******* ****** ** *** ******. I am concerned I will never receive my money back or the work done resulting in the likelihood I may have to sell my property ** ** ******* *** *** ****** *****. The 'build' started in March 2022.

We hired ****** to rebuild a shared garage on our property in fall 2022. Nearing the completion of the project, we were contacted multiple times by the garage door suppliers who ****** had sourced. They informed us that our custom order had arrived but since they were unable to get in touch with ******, nor received any payment from him, they would not install the product. They asked that we help them get in contact with ****** as they did not want to remove our temporary doors they had installed or have to put a lean on our property. We were able to organize communication with ****** and the door suppliers. It was decided that ****** would reimburse us for the doors and we would pay the supplier directly as they had an ongoing dispute regarding payments for other projects. ****** did not honour the agreement and we did not receive our reimbursement by the scheduled installation day. We paid the garage door suppliers after the installation and ****** assured us that we would receive our reimbursement by the end of the week. It has now been over 3 months and we have still not received our reimbursement. We have attempted to get in touch with ****** weekly through email, calls, and voicemails but have received no responses since March.

Fawn Group Construction was hired to do our garage floor in 2021. The concrete was poured in August of 2021 on a hot day. Within months the floor had started to flake up and progressively got worse as time went on. We contacted the ****** ****** *****, who told us that he would come repair the floor and my husband told him to come look at it as it’s much worse than he thinks it may be. ****** came to look at the floor and told us he would get back to us within 2 days with a resolution. We waited 2 weeks and contacted him again and waited another 2 weeks to hear back from him only to say it’s our problem now and that it’s too big of a job to fix and the floor flaked because of cold temperatures and if he knew it wouldn’t of been heated he would have ordered 5-8% air in the concrete. We never told ****** that that floor would be heated he must have just assumed that and the stamped drawings we provided him to follow said the concrete had to have 4-7% air in it which clearly he didn’t order correctly. We have tried to contact ****** multiple times and he won’t answer our calls or return our emails and has blocked us on social media. We would like the garage floor to be repaired since we paid him a substantial amount and now our garage floor looks horrible.

In August of 2021 Fawn Group Construction was contracted to construct a structural concrete slab for a pre-fab steel building at the subject address.

The plans were provided to Fawn Group construction, and it is important to note Fawn group construction did not have any part in the design or specifications of these plans, but only the construction of the slab as per the provided plans.

The Structure was designed to be a fully finished and insulated structure, with a radiant heat flooring system installed in the slab.

The slab was constructed with the materials outlined in the specification and passed all required municipal inspections prior to final payment from the client.

After completion of the slab, the client constructed the pre-fab steel building but did not finish it before winter, and did not install any door in the structure until the spring of 2022, subjecting the slab to a winter of below freezing temperatures which it was not designed for.

In the spring of 2022 we were contacted about the finished surface of the floor chipping away, as concrete of this specification does after being frozen.

There was no mention of the surface issues in 2021, until after they were informed that this was not a workmanship issue in 2022.

For the reasons outlined above, the clients were informed this is not a workmanship, or even a defective material warranty issue, but simply a case of a slab being subjected to weather conditions it was never designed for. the clients were given simple options to re-surface the floor, but this is a not a warranty issue.

Furthermore since this incident, Fawn group Construction has been the subject of quite a lot of online slander and spreading of mis-information, Which has been compiled and sent to litigation to review options.

      ********** ********

I am rejecting this response because:

No, based on our research the concrete finishers are the cause of this condition. Fawn Group Construction is responsible for the finish of this concrete. We are open to compensation to repair this condition. Once compensated Facebook posts will be removed.
