I purchased a brand new ******* ****** *** rifle over the Christmas holiday. When I assembled it in early January I found a large cosmetic scratch on the forend. I contacted Stoeger Canada for the manufacturer's warranty (they cover ******* in Canada) and asked for a replacement forend as the damage was cosmetic. They refused to provide a new forend and insisted I send the item to them first, so I did. I received a notification about 2 weeks later that my item "was repaired". I immediately updated Stoeger that this was ************ *** not what we agreed: I sent in an item with cosmetic damage and will be receiving back the same item with a new kind of cosmetic damage. They informed me **** *** *** **** *** that they chose how to act on warranty claims and I had no choice. This all happened at the end of January, I followed up multiple times asking what the status of the item was, getting no reply. Finally I found someone there after leaving a message who let me know the item had been sent by *** and was being returned (???) but no slip was left on the door, I work from home, and *** didn't call me and this agent would help by shipping the item ****** ****. I received the item today and it was ******* ** * ********* a large yellow discoloured area and misshapen from the "repair" done on it. I was resigned to accepting this when, after fitting the item back to my rifle, I found the forend was bent. Flush on one side, it was now 4-5mm out of place on the side where the damage was originally, meaning during "repair" the part had been seriously bent. Hi I bought a shotgun and it's now changing colour and has become very tacky, I've contacted Stoeger and they will not warranty it I've looked at the warranty literature and it says nothing about it I've also contacted ******* in the states and they would gladly warranty it but cannot because of a Canadian address.
