      On Monday, 9 November 2021, my wife (****) and I approached the NAK Gallery regarding renting their space to host her 40th birthday party/fund raiser. After discussing specifics with Mehdi K******** (Events Coordinator - *************************), we agreed on the following: to rent the venue for the evening of 26 November for a party of 50 people, style of party (cocktails + hors d’oeuvres, dj music + dance, tables for a silent auction benefitting a local charity). To finalize our discussions, we met again with Mehdi on 18 November, we received a quote for the event which we paid in full. The visit on 18 November included a walk-through of the gallery and discussions of our expectations. -Gallery will be rented from 6h30 pm till 12h30 am -Gallery will contract out food and drinks -Gallery will complete setup –which will include moving valuables from the main gallery floor and opening the space for dancing. On Friday 26 November as agreed we got to the NAK gallery where our DJ was already present. It was clear that nothing from our discussions of the week before had been finalized. The gallery space was crowded and included new displays. We asked Mehdi to rectify the situation and provide the setup as we agreed upon. All attempts to work with them was futile. After a telephone conservation with Sylvette B***** (the Operations Manager, **********************), they told us to either proceed as it is or cancel with a full refund. Mehdi is on video record agreeing to refund -we can share video. We chose to cancel the event on the spot as it didn’t meet the integrity of what was agreed upon. On 29 November, we returned to the gallery for the refund. The Operations Manager, B***** refused to have a conversation and instead called the police. The police took a statement from us, as well as from B***** and advised us to either file a legal case or reach out to the Better Business Bureau. We are seeking a full refund of our funds totaling $ 3,401.00 Thank you.
