In June 2022 I requested an appointment to inquire about a special banking offer for professional teachers. I met with a representative named ***** **** ****** sometime in early July and agreed to open an account. A condition of the teachers' banking offer was that I would have to be approved for a ********** issued by ***, and I would be informed of whether I was approved for this or not in the coming days. A few days later, I was informed through an automatic notification that I was denied for the **********. Since this was a necessary condition of the teachers' banking offer, I got back in touch with Mr. ****** to inquire about the situation and he informed me of the reasons why the credit card application was denied. I asked him to close the account since it was now redundant without the ********** (since I would not be getting any of the other teachers' benefits), and he agreed to close the account on July 27, 2022. I was under the assumption that this account had been closed. I recently received a latter dated April 12, 2023 informing me that my account with *** is overdrawn by $110.24. I was not aware that I still had an account opened, and I have email confirmation from Mr. ****** that my account was going to be closed way back in July of last year. I did not ever use the account, and I did not authorize any payments. I am not sure why the account is still open in the first place, and why it is overdrawn. I am requesting that National Bank immediately reverse these unauthorized charges and to close any accounts in my name. I also request that any impact these charges have had on my credit score are reversed.
