On April 6, 2022, I took my car in to Bel-Air Toyota service: putting on summer tires, oil change, and to fix the low pressure light on my dash. It's the light problem that is the source of the issue, because I was charged $70 to fix a problem they were responsible for. Background: The low pressure sensors in the rims (TPMS sensors) have been failing over the past couple of years - it's normal - and I've now had them all replaced. In fact, Bel-Air replaced 4 of them, the last on November 5, 2021. The TPMS light did not go off after that, however, because Bel-Air apparently failed to properly reset the system. This was the second time they had failed to do so (previous time being in 2020). This makes the system useless, as it's impossible to know whether there is low tire issue or whether the light is still just malfunctioning. I contacted them by text on November 10th, 2021 and again afterward, but they never returned the text. Because I've been very busy with work I waited till spring. I told them this was their issue, but they still charged me for it. I attempted to speak to a manager by phone and text, but after initially texting me, they ghosted me. Given that this has happened before, I'm putting my foot down. I want a refund for the $70. As an added bonus, I noticed that the bug deflector on the front of my car was broken when I got home. While it was cracked before, it had been fine for years. The resolution for that one is I'd like the replacement part at cost, with them installing (it should be 5 min work). Given that I'll be buying a new car in a year or two, this should be a no-brainer for them - as annoyed as I am right now, they'd keep my business.Customer response
