Few years ago solar panels were installed at my cottage that had a warranty for 10 years. It stopped working after 7. Husband called Sifft in May 2022 left multiple voice messages and no one responded. I then left voice messages with no response. I then sent an email and I was contacted back by the company. When electrician arrived, he was unable to inform me what the problem could be. He did not have his equipment with him and had to use our personal generator to see if he could re-start it. He said if it was a dead battery, if it was damage from being too cold, or if it the battery needed to be recharged. He offered two solutions: 1Replace the entire battery(ies) OR 2)Bring back our battery unit to their place of business and recharge it. I asked him what the charges would be for both options, and I elected to try the second option. He then informed me he can’t lift the battery to his vehicle. I offered I could help him lift it and he declined. He informed me another staff member would come out and bring it back to their place of business. I gave him the code to our gate at the beginning of the property, and I left the basement door unlocked where the battery was housed. I also asked him to talk to my husband via phone call as my husband knows more what is going on. No one returned to my cottage, or called husband. Over 6 months went by and then I received an invoice in January 2023. I called the company asking what this invoice was about. The company could not provide me with any details of what service was performed. The company still continued to send multiple invoices and multiple phone calls. Every time I spoke with an employee, they were unaware of the situation/had no formal record of what the issue was. Finally, they reached out to electrician, whom claimed that the issue was damage to the unit due to cold weather, and that I didn’t want to have any work done on the unit due to cost- both statements are false.Business response

We have written off this invoice several months ago (April 13, 2023). Sifft Electric did not install this customer's solar system. It was installed by ********* ******** and Sifft Electric was called out by the tenant to service it. The homeowner refused to pay for the service call and we deemed the amount to be uncollectable and wrote the invoice off. We will not be attending to this customer's equipment again.Customer response
