My furnace finally wouldn't start, a problem which I later learned was due to a dirty fuel filter. Their serviceman came and spent 4 or 5 hours on. He stated that my transformer was gone and that a replacement was $*** and would take 2 weeks to get in. He had a work around that was cheaper and I gave the approval to do it. He replaced multiple parts and converted the furnace to electronic unit, did various tests and left. The furnace ran for a few days and again shut down.. The company said the bill was $**** and yet I still had the same issue. I stated that all the new parts obviously weren't needed and to send a different technician. I was told that they would scrap the bill and remove the parts if I so chose to. The same technician returned and stated I needed a 2nd fuel line run to make things work at about $*** more. At this point I told him to remove all his parts and put things back to original state and he did so. ***** *** *******  He still had my original parts in his truck a week later.... If they were bad, why weren't they in the garbage? ******* **** ** **** ** ******* *****  *** *** ****** ******* *********** As he packed up to leave,I wrote down the parts he had earlier installed so I could maybe do the work myself. Later a friend comes over who said he'd look at my furnace for me. He simply bled the lines once again and it fired right up and still works perfectly today....no parts needed! My friend also asked when it acted up and was it just after refilling the tank. It was indeed and I'd missed the connection....It was all due to dirty fuel alone. The Svc tech had asked too and then misdirected me with the transformer failure story at that time so I didn't see the connection. Now 2 months later I get a call from RedLake Plumbing stating they want me to pay some of the mans hours. I will meet them in court. **** ** ****** * **** **** *** ****** **** ** *****.*******

Red Lake Plumbing and Heating Response

    11/05/2023

Thank you for your response. Yesterday when I attempted to review the invoice with you, you were not willing to hear or attempt to understand our side of things. Our most senior technician was sent out to your home in response to no heat March 10 2023. Our technician asked that you, if he could replace the parts and you said yes so we assumed that it was ok. He left and the furnace was working. When you called March 21 again with no heat, I sent the same technician. He happen to still have parts in his truck from your furnace because he did not go to the garbage dump as he was up north working in between the calls to your home. All we are asking for is the fuel surcharge for travel to your home which is 140KMs round trip and travel hours which is 1.5 hours round trip. And 4 hours of work rather then the 9.5 hours that we could charge. As a business we are not in to scamming people, or taking advantage of people. But in order to run our business these are charges we ask to have paid, so that we can also pay our technicians. We do not sell used parts or even new ones to unlicensed technicians. We left your furnace off as there were issues you did not want us to fix and it was deemed not to be safe to use due to code from our fully licensed technician. Your bill should have been close to $2300 and we are only asking for $1046.68 which is two travel times, two fuel surcharges and 4 hours of my technicians rate rather then 9.5 hours. We are trying to make this right with you however you have been very verbal and unfortunately we do not tolerate swearing and yelling when we were trying to discuss a situation like yours. Should you wish to reach out I am happy to discuss this with you in a calm manner. Please note that we are fully licensed with our tickets, and the people you have had working on your furnace are not so we were trying to get it fixed for you to provide your home with heat. Unfortunately sometimes our technicians do not get things right the first time this is why we are not wanting to charge the entire bill to you sir. I trust you have our phone number and when you are able we would be happy to review your bill and explain our findings. But yesterday over the phone you threatened a law suit, and swore and yelled, and this is something we do not tolerate and will not tolerate. We are also the only oil technician in the area and we pride ourselves on excellent workmanship. Thank you!
