I had my driveway asphalted on june 9 2021 & there was a 1 year warranty given. while shoveling the driveway i noticed pieces of the driveway had broken apart. I contacted sarnia asphalt Friday april 29 2022 & told the owner ******** ****** what had taken place over the winter. He asked for pictures which i sent him. his reply was ok patch it up & seal whole driveway for you. Sound good. I asked if it was under the warranty & he said yes but he said it would be about 2 weeks. I never got a phone call text or email from him. He stopped by the house because he did a job for my neighbour in june 2022 & said to contact him in august.. August 4 2022sent him a message about the repair said he did noy have a exact date. Tuesday Sept. 20 2022 sent a message about the repair never heard back from him. Sent a message Tuesday may 23 2023 he said give me a day or 2 I have not heard from him. Sent another message Thursday july 13 2023 i have not heard from him. I did every thing in text message in case he was not going to do the work he promised & i have a record of all messages on my phone. Work was done summer of 2021 Waited 2 seasons to see if they would fix the issues. Owner kept making excuses. Now that I’ve moved out of the property, I’m putting my review out there. They covered up my clean out and as you can see, this was their fix. Covered up my water shut off valve and made no attempt to fix it. Driveway collects water all over. Very icy during the winter. Made no attempt to come fix it. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Never arrived on time. Work was very rushed with no planning. Very unprofessional attitude as well. Steer clear of these guys.Business response

This is a result of the previous contractor who install a drain pipe not pack the ground properly. This has absolutely nothing to do with our workmanship or costumers satisfaction at all. Multiple time I ask for us to do the pipe installation and they refused because the none insured none registered company was doing it cheaper. After paving the ground over the pipe completely caved in. I did them a favour to drive across town to put extra asphslt in the trench and hole that collapsed before winter so no one got hurt. Then said as long as costs are covered I will come fix the grav and everything next year. Which they refused. Our job was to come in and lay asphalt. The sink hole was over 2 feet deep. We do not disturb ground no where near that depth. This is also going into court proceedings for defamation. He has posted pictures of our company yard sign sticking out of the sink hole acting as it was our fault. Multiple messages with his father explaining my concern of the contractor packing the ground properly. And multiple comments from Peter on ********. If we were to do a full replacement of base before paving we only go 6-8 inches. No where close to the 2ft plus that this sunk.Customer response

What he is saying is simply not true. They made several mistakes on the driveway and we asked them many many times to come fix their mistakes and they always said they would come but they never actually came. The company is trying to blame their bad workmanship on other people.

On May 7 2022 this company (Sarnia Asphalt) came and started to prepare my laneway for new asphalt and to widen it. They came back on May 9 2022 to finish however the final product is full of loose gravel and low spots where water collects and stays for days. Multiple attempts have been made to this company to repair this and everytime it is going to be a couple weeks before they can get here however they do not show up or contact us to schedule a repair. I also have been asking for a receipt from this company and not getting it. I still have all my records of transfers sent to them and them accepting the transfers with a security question
