***************** I booked an event for my father's 60th birthday in March 2020. The event was paid for in full. Due to a COVID lockdown the event was cancelled due to public health measures by the hall and we were offered another date. The secondary date was also cancelled due to public health measures by the hall, as well (May 2020). Since 2020 we have been trying to obtain a refund for the event from Grand Olympia. It has been ********* difficult to reach a manager/supervisor in office to resolve this matter. We are frequently told by the receptionist they will call us back and fail to do so repeatedly. When we are in contact with a manager, we are frequently told they will get back to us or follow up on the matter which has never been resolved. At one point they offered us a payment plan to refund the event but never followed through. I have recently called Grand Olympia and spoke to an individual by the name of Kayla who clearly articulated their process for cancelled events due to covid was a credit on file for 2 years to reschedule the event or a full refund. The only way I was able to get beyond the receptionist was to request information for a future booking. Please note Kayla was able to return my call within 15 minutes. Earlier the same day, we called Grand Olympia and spoke with the receptionist who said someone would be in contact with her- this call was never returned. The receptionist also disclosed on this call that events cancelled over new years were being processed and refunded which was quite upsetting to hear given we have been waiting nearly 2 years. We have been pursuing a refund from Grand Olympia since 2020 after two events were cancelled due to covid. We would like the event (including our deposit) refunded in full. We have paid Grand Olympia in full for the event and have never received any good or services in return.
