Over the past weekend I purchased a 2007 Kia Sedona private sale from a resident of Sturgeon Falls for more details please see ******* *****. I purchased this vehicle certified where are the safety standard certificate was done at your garage on 230202. ****** ******** *********** ********** This vehicle had repairs done at your garage on 0202/2023. Total price was $1,484.42. It mentions that the front / rear link kits are loose. But it must have passed the standard certificate because they weren't done just noted that they were loose. I decided to bring it to a certified garage to have all four link kits done. I supplied all four parts the two rear link kits and the drivers front side link it had a little movement but still passed certification. But the front right stabilizer link it was bent and the ball came out of the socket on the bottom when removed I enclosed a few pictures. There's no way that this front right link it with excessive play and a bent rod should have passed mechanical I went to two other garages and they said the same thing after I showed him the part that this vehicle should have never passed mechanical on 0202-2023. We're still within the 36 Days certification period for my own safety and Family Safety I decided still to change all for link kits at my expense. I would like to be reimbursed for the parts only to the sum of $124 for the two front link kits. I should have never had to pay for this since it should have been done before the certification was granted. I will cover the expense of the labor at the garage but I would like to be reimbursed for the front link kits. Again view the picture that I sent. I We also found another item that shouldn't have passed mechanical the secondary Hood lock. When you open it from the inside you're supposed to go to the edge of the hood and open another part of the latch which is the second part to that latch well that part of the lodge was all seized up. So when you open it up from the inside the hood would automatically go up which could be dangerous driving on a highway so as soon as you open up the Hood from the inside the hood didn't have that secondary lock where you have to lift up or down another lever. The mechanic took about a half an hour to unseize and Lube the lock on the hood. That hood latch being seized should never have passed mechanical either. There were no kilometers driven from the time of the repairs to the time that the mechanical Fitness was done. So these problems couldn't have occurred after the mechanical Fitness was done because at the time of the mechanical Fitness and the repairs the odometer was the same I would like to get reimbursed $64 for the half hour of the mechanic took 10 sees the hood plus $5 for a can of lubricant total reimbursement $193.00

We already sent him an e-mail to contact us but he did not.

For the sway bar links being loose, at the inspection they did pass. No links were bent, that could of happen on the way home him or the old owner (hitting a pot hole or the mechanic bending it while removing it, happens a lot hence coming out of the socket)

I would of been happy to replace the links if he would of came straight here with the issue but it is not my reasonability to pay for those parts or labour because it was already noted on the repair order, he should of took that up with the old owner.

For the latch being seized yes it could be but it was working when the vehicle came in here, it does not take much for rusted metal to seize especially on a 16 year old vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because:

First of all the old owner has nothing to do with this he paid you to certify a vehicle now you are saying that the stabilizer link hits at the time of inspection did pass. You say it could what happened on the way home him which is me or the old owner hitting a pothole or the mechanic bending it while they're moving unless you're Lou Ferrigno no one is bending that by hand the car was towed back by *** to Sault Ste Marie and it went right to the garage here in town so no kilometers we're putting on by myself now hence where he says it could have happened after I left the garage it must have happened after left of the garage cuz it passed well if you look at the safety certificate it is dated February 2nd 2023, if you look at the repair invoice from ***** ****** it is also dated February 2nd 2023. But the main thing is the kilometers did not change at the time of certification it had $ 140,340, and the time of the repairs were the same thing 140,340 km. So that means the vehicle was never driven he hates to admit that he missed the inspection cuz he could get in a lot of trouble so at the time of the inspection and when it was filled out plus the repair the kilometers never changed if the kilometers did change perhaps 10 20 100 km then he's repair could say oh it happened when he left here he's crazy. And then the latch he says it could of being seized if it was working at the time of the inspection and the time I brought it to my garage which is not even 7 Days Later you're telling me it's seized up that much that the mechanic had to use a whole can of penetrating fluid and move the lever back and forth about 100 times it doesn't seize up that fast again and now he's trying to hide from it because he can be in a lot of trouble so in conclusion the kilometers were the same the dates were the same no mileage was putting on the vehicle from the time of certification and repairs it was on a tow truck to Sue Saint Marie so no kilometers were put on and then he admits that the lodge could have been seized but it shouldn't be could of it should be yes or no certificates don't pass on it could have if we can't resolve it here I'll get the Ministry of Transportation and operations involved the division that controls certified garages same Department that work with the opp doing vehicle inspections I will also file a complaint with Ministry of consumer services and also omvic

I would also like to know ***'s garage says it could of being seized but it was working when the vehicle came in for inspection well he's contradicting himself it could have been seized so it could have been seized but how could have been seized when he said he came in there unceased so he's getting the story all mixed up

      Sincerely,

We have security cameras at the shop with proof that after the customer paid his bill and picked up the keys he got into the van and drove away. The vehicle did not get towed away from the shop so yes, something might have happened between the inspection and delivery of the the vehicle where ever it was dropped off.
