I contacted metal pro buildings to inquire about a quinset hut. I told them I wanted to come to their warehouse and see them in person as well as have some proof of cnib # to ensure my building would be up to the ontario building code. They pressured me into giving a 400$ deposit on a model " just to put my name on it" and when I had my inquiries answered and an opportunity to meet them in person. I could move forward with the purchase or get my deposit back. They immediately sent me an email with documents to sign agreeing to purchase a building before my questions were answered. As a customer I was very thrown off by their actions and asked for my deposit back. They have stalled and delayed... and now sent me another document that agrees that I incurred them costs for the order on the building. I am being **** to and ****** by this company and want my deposit back.

      Business response

      04/02/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/10) */ This gentleman made a partial payment of $400.00 towards purchasing a steel building from our firm on December 20, 2021. Subsequently, he reached out and asked to cancel; our firm is very okay with canceling and providing a full refund (so no issue there). We were close for the Christmas Holiday, and on December 31, 2021, a cancellation letter was sent, releasing this client and for documentation purposes. It is imperative that this client understands; that the refund of monies needs to be documented; therefore, his signature acknowledging the refund is required and mandatory. He received the release letter (and while all the verbiage therein doesn't apply to him), it is our standard release document for all cancellations. I am not sure if he read the document, wherein it clearly states his $400 is being fully refunded. Instead of calling and speaking with us regarding any verbiage and item in the letter, he chose to do a ****** and Better Business Review. We have made multiple attempts to talk with him by telephone; he keeps hanging up, us and just keeps asking for a refund. To be clear, we cannot (will not) issue any refund without proper documentation. If he chooses to remain ******* and hopes to use a public forum to discuss such a simple matter (you need to sign our document), then that is his choice. But NO REFUND will be provided until a release documentation is signed. We are amicable working with the client to craft to document to be satisfactory for all parties, but he statements that he wants monies back without signing our document is without merits and will not be considered. ***************************************************************************************** Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/01/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Your document requires me to agree that I incurred the cost of manufacturing the entire building, while your sales associates claimed the building was " on sale" because there was a big shipment of steel coming in and you NEEDED to clear the yard to make room for the shipment. If the materials are already sitting in the yard , why would anyone sign an agreement that they incurred you any manufacturing costs ? I tried canceling my order and asked for my deposit within a few days, why or how would you be able to manufacture an entire building over a 72 hour period on a weekend? *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** I would rather pay full price to a better company that doesn't rely on ***** sales tactics. When I paid the deposit, I was told to pay through my checking account and not my credit card. Because it would be " easier" to refund my deposit if there was any reasons why I couldn't move forward. We had agreed on the phone i was going to visit your office with my dad to look over the product and engineered plans. You attempted to trick me into signing paperwork agreeing to purchase the building , before my expectations were met . What is your building designers BCIN number ? You didn't want to give me a chance to confirm with my township that your product was up to my municipalities building by-laws. There was no paperwork or legal documents signed when you accepted my deposit, just promises that there wouldn't be any complications in returning my deposit if the product couldn't meet my expectations. Write a new agreement that doesn't require me to be legally vulnerable to a lawsuit. I think I should get a lawyer, as this entire experience has caused me quite a bit of mental anguish, it's hard having any faith in humanity when companies like this are able to exist. *********************************************** Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2022/01/12) */ ******, I am not sure if you are reading our communication. Our last response here on BBB confirmed and agreed that the cancellation release letter sent to you; was a standard document, and in your case, most of the items listed therein did NOT apply to you. Notwithstanding, the main point was the $400.00 being refunded; this was the document's intent. Lawsuit threats are what they are; in a real court of law, there are two attorneys and a judge, so if you feel that you will be more successful going that direction, our legal counsel would be more than happy to take it from here. Again, our company has no issue refunding you your $400; however, we need documentation before releasing funds. I will have a revised letter sent to you tomorrow; we hope you will find the terms amicable and we can get your funds to you. Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2022/01/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I actually haven't threatened any legal action, I said I think I should get a lawyer because I feel ********** by your legal documents, and MIGHT need to protect myself. I truthfully have better things to do with my time, like find a ********** building designer that I can do honest business with. The document seems to be legit without your ceos opening statements that I have " incurred a cost " to the company. This is simply not true. I was told I needed to make the deposit so the clearance model already in your inventory would not be sold to anyone else. Then after we verbally agreed to meet in person to satisfy my expectations, you asked me to sign an invoice. Where was all this documentation and diligence when you took my deposit ? I gave you plenty of time to process my refund before I made a complaint. Consumer Response /* (2000, 16, 2022/01/18) */ I have signed an updated release for my refund ,and would like to confirm this complaint as resolved.
