I purchased a vehicle from Motorvity Wheelz in ***********. The vehicle was certified for 36 days. On day 20, my muffler went but they refused to pay for a replacement muffler saying they would not cover any further costs. I have been in contact with ***** but all they can do is mediate, and the dealership said no to them. What is the point of a certification if a company can just disregard payment when something fails in that period?Business response

Hello, to whom this may concern, this is *************************, from Motor City Wheelz . Regarding the 2010 ***** Tribute suv ( purchaded in the spring of 2023 ) please note that customer refused to bring the vehicle back to the ************ ( wards automotive center ) located at332543 ********** RR#7, ***********, ON N4G 4H1, customer claimed they it was too far for them ... we told the customer as a policy any certification or warranty issues need to come back to ************.. as we have already paid for the service ... *** we made an exception ( Attempting to try and resolve the issues ... sending a $300 e transfer ( SENT APRIL 22 /2023 ) after agreeing on that number with the customer .... as this was the aprox cost for us ( with prefered rate ) at ************ .. customer did agree to this and Received the payment)Unfortunately, regarding the other repairs... these happened after the 36 days of the certification ... we did still offer to help by getting a prefered rate at ************.... but again the customer Refused to make the trip . We can not pay for repairs done at another mechanic... also please note. . The customer has the remainder of the limited powertrain dealer guaranty .. as noted on the bill of sale .. this is only valid at motor city wheelz mechanic... if customer requires any future Assistance or warranty issue they will need to bring it to ************..Thank you BBB for your help in this matter .. but is very frustrating when the customer refuses to bring the vehicle back . We always try our best to help with service and warranty issues ... as the after service is very important to us ... we wish the best and hopefully the customer will have trouble free use of the vehicle .. but if any issues come up .. we hope that they will contact us and cooperate with the remainder of the warranty . I am rejecting this response because: what was written by ****** was not true. The issue with the muffler was rejected in an email she sent to me as part of the attachment. In that email she states that they will not cover the cost. She said I was welcome to take it to their mechanic to check it out but it would not be covered. At no no time did she say to bring it to their shop to have it fixed as part if a certification. I bought the vehicle on March 10 and the issue with the muffler occurred on March 31. 20 days later with the certification period being 36 days. It was not honoured. As per the first repair which was 10 days after buying the car, I would have brought it to *********** but my mechanic said with an engine light on, needing a purge valve and oxygen sensor it could stall out. That is the reason I brought it to them. Then engine was almost stalling out each the car was at a stop sign or street light and shaking badly. They wanted me to pay for a tow which I felt after owing the car for car for 10 days was not fair at all.

Hi, its the mechanics responsibly withen the first 36 days . You neglected to take it back on both occasions ..and was absolutely clear that any issues will need to go back to the certified mechanic. ****** AUTOMOTIVE is a highly rated shop with over 25 years experience. They stand behind there work . Unfortunately it is policy that we can not pay out for repairs done at another shop . You still have the remainder of the 1 year limited powertrain warranty. * please note.. it will only be valid at Wards Automotive . I hope that this helps to clarify the situation. I am rejecting this response because: I was never offered the option of going to ****** Automotive. Please read the email you sent to me on March 31. There is no mention of bringing the vehicle to ****** Automotive. You said you would not pay for anything else. Your words. ****** Garage is also the same garage that certified my vehicle with no working rear brake light, no battery tie down, no air filter, and within the first 20 days my vehicle had the engine light go on 3 days into owning it, purge valve needed to be replaced along with the oxygen sensor and muffler. This has not been good service with little to no help at all. Asking me to drive a vehicle to your preferred garage with an engine light on, shook when driving and sounded like it would stall out at stoplights/ signs with no offer to pay for the tow you suggested but rather you said I should pay for it was very disappointing after owing the vehicle for 10 days. All I am asking is for the certification you promised when I bought the vehicle to be honoured and the muffler paid for. That is more than far.
