Paid them to do the business taxes. They did it but they refuse to send the paperwork showing what they did to file. Bookkeeping requires the adjustments so they can continue the entries for the next filing. We have emailed them 4 times and called 8 times and they refuse to respond. They have also been half prepaid to do the next years filing. Requested a refund and no response.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I haven’t received anything at all. We also prepaid for returns to be done ($3560.00) and will not be proceeding with them ******* **** ***** ******* *** ********* ** ************ I want this returned to us. I can provide the copy of the etransfer draft. Paid in full at this point to cover 2016-2019 before work commenced
They only performed half the work. they did years 2016 and 2017. There should be a refund on the years that they did not do, 2018-2019.
Half of the bill would be $2090.50, I expect this to be returned since the work was not done,
Before the stopped taking our calls they got my husband to pay half of their new invoice dated June 21/2022 to cover 2019 - 2021 (In theory, 2019 was already pre paid by May of 2020)
For my bookkeeper to continue entering she required normal business filing information from Tax Mechanic. About the same time I had realized the discrepancy in the billing and stated to trying to phone Tax Mechanic office. No calls were answered, nor were any calls returned.
I appreciate the files that were sent, however, for the bookkeeper to accurately continue we still require:
For 2016 and 2017
Income and Deficit Statements
Balance Sheets
Trial Balances
General Ledger with any adjusting entries
I also require the $3560.00 pre pay for the invoice 2953 dated June 21, 2022 for the sum of $ 5,480.50. it was paid in half on Feb. 2, 2023.
This was to cover 2019-2021. We have chosen not to proceed with their services due to lack of communication. They never stated anywhere the fees were non-refundable. I have the contract and thats not mentioned anywhere.
Totals that should be returned:
$2090.50 for pre paid service covering 2018 - 2019
$3560.00 for pre paid service covering 2019 - 2021
$5,650.50 for over payment of services not rendered.

Balance Sheets
Trial Balances
General Ledger with any adjusting entries
Bills and receipts available from Tax Mechanic showing they were prepaid in full prior to starting work.

I have ******** 2 documents regarding this file in addition to all the previous documents sent. We completed work on our end and the client was unresponsive for months to complete some of the files and said they had no money to proceed. We closed the file and wrote off the amounts owing.
