In the fall of 2018, ***** *** University issued a Request for Proposal for a replacement for our existing integrated emergency alerting system. After reviewing many proposals from different vendors, AppArmor was chosen as our solution. We needed a solution that would work not only for the main campus in College Station, but also ********* Health, the ********* University School of Law, the Higher Education Center at *******, and potentially other ********* University System parts and universities.
AppArmor fit the bill perfectly. The system is very robust and scalable, which was especially important to us, given our large population. We routinely send out alerts to about 70,000 people at once. The AppArmor solution is also very flexible and configurable, as we use it to send out alerts to different campuses, using different channels of communication, depending on the needs of that campus. Each campus also has their own branded mobile application. We also use the AppArmor Command product for our Division of Information Technology scramble team and, also Utilities and Energy Services.
The AppArmor team has been great to work with. They are very responsive to our needs and any issues that may arise with such a complex system. They understand the importance of such a system, and they live up to our lofty expectations. They are just a great team of people, who I feel like we have gotten to know, and they are personally invested in our success.
