The work was performed on January 5, 2022. Based on times taken from our front door monitoring logs, they arrived at 2:42pm and the first 13 minutes were for the review of the work to be done and estimate at which point they exited the house and returned 1 minute later to start the work. The work started at 2:56pm and finished at 3:36pm at which time they left, so a total of only 40 minutes was needed for both services performed. The two pieces of work completed were the replacement of a kitchen faucet with a customer supplied unit and 25' snake sink blockage removal. The total charges were approximately $1300 + HST for the 40 minutes of service provided. The primary issue is the kitchen faucet install - client supplied for which we were charged $774 for about 10 minutes of time it took to perform the job. Upon calling the company and speaking with both Susan at 4:21pm as well as the owner Michael at 4:31pm, we were informed that their pricing model is fixed. However, as a fixed price, this seems significantly high and well above an average charge, particularly for the complexity of this job. Our expectation for even a fixed priced vendor is to use their professional judgement based on specific scenario to be able to tier the fixed price to a low, medium or high complexity job. Furthermore, the newly installed faucet rubs against our granite bar top and as a result will not stay up for full water pressure without pushing it up against the granite. The recommendation by the installer was to "chip away a piece of the granite" to allow full functionality. This is unacceptable from both a pricing perspective and the professional installation perspective and we would like a refund on this item of the service for the $774 + HST charged for this line item of the invoice.Business response
