They wanted to charge $150+tax to show up, and would remove that charge when I agreed to the work. When they arrived, they said that I needed to replace the faucet (which I already knew) and it would cost $450. I asked why it was so much and they said it was because it requires soldering. That is the standard price. This simple job that would take 15-20 minutes to do, would cost me $450 + tax. That is crazy. I paid the $170 (after tax) visiting fee and told them to leave. This seems to be their business practise. They charge a huge fee to visit your place and do an evaluation and then whatever job it is, they will charge $450 or more for the job itself. If you say no to paying the insane price, well, they got you for the visiting fee. I was reminded several times by the plumber that visited, that they record their phone conversations and have it recorded that I agreed to pay the visiting fee. I wonder how much work they actually do or do they just drive around and collect their $170 on each rejected job. **** * *****
