Impossible to deal with. Will not communicate by phone, only text. Stores are not at all helpful and provide the wrong information in most cases.Review from Renee M

I went into Freedom in 2022 and got a plan and phone. We were told we would be paying 20 dollars a month for the phone on top of the plan. It was only recently I noticed the trade up was on my account. The amount was 12 dollars a month. At no point when entering did the sales person mention this at all. Now I am being reminded that my term is almost up and I will owe 1200 if I want to keep the two phones. I have been with this company since it was **** mobile. 10 years of being a loyal customer *** *** **** ******** ** ***** **. I think they are ***** *** not informing the customer ** * ****. I was nearly reaching the two year contract but I had to pay out more than $400 for the phone cost if I keep using the phone with them. So I decided to change the carrier to ***** since I had my old phone. ***** mailed me the new SIM card. According to the ***** instructions, I needed the current phone with freedom SIM card active to transfer my phone number to next phone. So I did it at home just couple days before the two year ends. I reset my phone and went to freedom store to return the phone. But she said ** supposed to return the phone before transfer the service and I have to pay for the remaining cost for the phone.. But I needed the phone with active to transfer the service and it takes 2.5hours.. Im just does not make sense to bring back phone first before transfer the service over the next phone.. I did call to customer service but she did not help me and I had to pay for the phone..Review from John C

I'm quite upset with the experience I've received with Freedom mobile due to a policy they have regarding deposit accounts. I'm currently in China and I assumed like with all the other carriers I have been with before that I could simply add or be charged for roaming to receive calls or text message. I require 2FA which is only accesible by text message and after being on the chat with their customer support for several hours, they said there was nothing they could. I have no clue why I would be on a deposit only account when I moved over 4 phone lines for my business to them.Review from Karen H

***** I have had a talk and text account with Freedom for 2 ** ** ************** For the last two days I have tried to open a new account to get a device and plan for myself. they have reasonable deals. They would not accept me because my talk and text are prepaid. Had no idea. They measly amount is just put on my CC monthly. Now they say they do not accept my credit rating because of this 48$ talk and text. * ** ************** **** ********* ******* They will give my husband an account because my maiden name is on the current account. I have been to this place several times, and my experience was not all that bad. So, why I am I giving one star? Well, it is because of the **** one salesperson pulled on me. ***** ** **** ****** *** ******** ** ************* I am usually careful about these things, but this sales person there managed to trick me in to buying a tablet that I did not need. Here is how they did it. I got a new ******* *** phone from them. During that transaction, the sales person pulled out a tablet and basically told me "I am going to give you a free tablet", and they sounded like as if it is something complimentary as I bought an expensive phone. I even asked "what's the catch?", and they said "no catch. It is absolutely free". And then without carefully reading the contract I signed it. Apparently they tricked me to sign a 24 month contract for a $15 per month data and calling plan that came with the tablet. Of course tablet was "free" but it came with a 24 month contract for $15 a month. I would never have signed this contract if sales person was clear about it, as I had no use for extra plan. They purposely did not explain properly. After few months, I noticed the $15 charge my bill ,and called customer service. At which point they said that "buyers remorse" period is over, and now I either have to continue the plan or buy off the tablet. Returning was not possible. Alas!Review from Caroline A

Well I was with ***** from 2016 April and joined freedom in Dec 2022. I have an I phone contract with freedom plan that terminates on Dec 2024. * ***** ******* * ***** *** **** * **** *****. Since operation starting Jan 2023 till now in Feb 2024, calls drop off daily ( I am in midtown Toronto) My US calling does not work and the a data rarely works. I have called numerous times and they call back make promises but nothing gets resolved, fixed or done. Their strategy is to exhaust you. My sister recommended me and we were both promised a 25 dollar credit for their referral program and they give us the runaround for that too. They have not honoured this at all. **** ******* ***** ****** They will not take ownership. I have no faith in them whatsoever. They pass the buck make excuses. **** ***** ******** **** ***** *** **** *** * ******* *** **** ********* ******** ******* **** *******. Freedom mobile ** ********, they charge for services I didn’t use, I do not owe them money, I did not have a plan contract with Freedom, I was on a month to month basis, every month the service got interrupted until I went into the office and paid for the month, they have a corporate ***** mentality, and when a customer doesn’t bow down to their ******** they hire collection agencies to ***** you on their behalf. **** ***** *** ***** ********
