I went to get gas for my snow blower and found that they had changed to a pay first system. I went in to get instructions on how to do it and showed the man my gas can I wanted to fill. He charged my credit card $18.07 and gestured for me to go out and pump the gas. I came back to complete the transaction as I only pumped $14.89. He charged my card and gave me another receipt. I didn't have my reading glasses on so when I finished snow blowing and had a chance to compare my receipts I realized that I only had two charges and no credits. It was Christmas time so when I got around to calling it was a week or two after the transaction. I spoke with ********* who said that she would talk to the owner and call me back. She did not. By the time I had a chance to review it again I had my credit card statement. I called again and spoke with ********* again who said that if I came in she would take me to the owner to get it refunded. The owner and the man who did the original transaction were at the counter and they both looked at the receipts and said that I bought product with the $18.07. I have never purchased product other than gas and propane from them. The first receipt for $18.07 (product) was transacted at 5:02:41 PM and the receipt for gas was at 5:06:09 PM. Why would I buy product then go out and pump gas to come back in and pay. If I bought gas then where is my first receipt with the credit. If they check their records no one else paid with a ********** ****** ** **** for the inistiall payment of gas with a credit refund for the difference between 5:02:41 and 5:06 PM which are the times of my transactions.Business response

The lady who submitted the complaint came to our store with her husband/partner around 20th of December. The husband came inside first and chose a small oil container shown as the attached picture. This small container we sell costs $15.99, after tax the price is $18.07. They paid for this small container first and asked us to authorized them to pump gas first then fulfill the payment. We allow their request. They went outside to pump the gas into this container, then they came inside again and paid $14.89 for the gas.
After a week, the lady phoned our store and told us the dispute she held. We kindly asked her to come to our store to have a review of the record from our security video system. She didn't come till mid January, around 15th January. But by the time she came, our system had already erased the record as our system keeps record for only two weeks.
The point for this dispute is that that container they used on that day was purchased from us. That is the reason why they paid $18.07 first.

I am rejecting this response because: It is completely incorrect. I went to the gas station by myself driving my green Hyundai Accent and brought my own gas container. As you can see from the receipts the date was Dec. 16/22 not approx. Dec. 20th. I brought "MY" gas can in and paid using my credit card as shown on the receipt and the ********** statement. The pre-purchase amount was $18.07 and the correct purchase amount was $14.89 as per the receipts provided. They had notices posted on the pumps saying that you had to pay first before you could pump and because of the language barrier I took the can in with me to show them how much gas I wanted. I again state that I already owned the gas can so was not purchasing the gas and I was the one who did the entire transaction as per the credit card receipts. I would like them to produce the third receipt to prove that I purchased product. if they are doing the pay-at-the-pump properly then there should be a third receipt showing a purchase of gas and then a credit for the difference. They cannot produce the receipt which is why they are making up this story.
Sincerely,
***** ******
