I contacted Dura-con concrete & interlocking to put stones on my backyard Mr John came to my place and gave me written quote as follows with start date of May 15 2022 to be finish job in 3 to 4 days collected deposit of 1200$ in cash as deposit. He came on May 27 with 2 of his workers and demolished old deck on the same day and came next day to level the ground for interlocking hete is the breakdown of his quote Remove old deck and dispose debris 500$ Stones and labour 10900$ 3 steps labour and parts 600$ total cost for project 12000$ Mr John collected 1200$ as deposit on 14th may 2022. On May 17 mr John collected 5855$ in cash with promise the stones will arrive at our location on May 18 2022 after that I did not hear from John or his called his phone and his office phone several times no response or return of my calls the next step I contacted BBB and wrote review about my experience he immediately called called me ************************************************************************************* with a promise he will start work on 09 June 2022 he called and demanded final payment which was agreed on completion of work amount 5885$ in cash I specifically told him that is not possible then he said he not going to do job find somebody else when I ask for refund he said it is charges for excavation work he did not did ground but just topped up with fine stones ******************************* pl help me to resolve the issue by returning my money minus his labour material definetly not 7085 ****************************************************************************** Thank you *************Business response

Mr. ************** does not have a contract with our company. He was given an estimate/ Proposal with Dura-Con. Contract no **** was signed April 21, 2021. Proposal form **** was provided April 18, 2021. A total payment of $49,460 was made. The business committed to pouring a porch, front and side steps with stamped facings, driveway, a stamped border on the driveway, stamped side walkway and stamped back patio. All work was to be done with coloured concrete. The work is plagued with numerous quality issues including multiple cracks in the concrete, deteriorating concrete, a crack in the foundation, an inability to match concrete colours and a driveway that was poured too high causing me to adjust the height of my have my garage door in order to be able to lock it. They damaged my property including putting a large scratch in my newly laid concrete with one of their wheelbarrows, scraping the side walkway they poured by dragging my barbeque to the backyard, damaging my window shutter and damaging the trim on my garage. They ******** the contract and their proposal by not delivering stamped borders on my driveway and stamped facings on my stairs. They demanded the final instalment of the $44,560.00 payment before completing the final pour on the driveway. After reluctantly making this final payment, on the day of the pour, I was surprised by an additional bill of $4,900.00 to be paid in two hours or they would not complete the work. ************************************************************************************************************ They also created numerous homeowner safety issues during work. After numerous complaints since August, when work was substantially completed, the company finally came back late November and said they would be back to fix the cracks and resurface the concrete. After the winter exposed more cracks, deteriorating concrete and a porch foundation crack; resurfacing and repairing cracks will not fix all the underlying problems with the job so I am requesting a refund.Business response

Dura-Con Concrete and Interlocking Ltd. reached out and we had a respectful and professional discussion. They listened to the issues and concerns outlined in my complaint and took them seriously. After our discussion they verbally agreed to reimburse me fully for the money I paid for the porch, all stairs, front landing, driveway and driveway border in accordance with the charges originally outlined in Proposal form No. **** when they bid on my job. They also agreed to reimburse me for the surcharge I paid. Dura-Con Concrete and Interlocking Ltd. advised they would pay me by the second week of June and thanked me for being so patient. I look forward to this issue finally being resolved when the reimbursement is received.
