            They do not check with any of their staff if the animal being adopted is satisfactory to the new owner. The old and new owners take care of the adoption themselves. There doesn't seem to be a clear policy on getting the adoption fee back if the animal is not suitable. The dog in question was paid for by the first owner and then the next owner, making that twice the dog was paid for and no refund policy or regulation was discussed, Due to behaviour problems, such as biting, the first owner could only keep the dog for 5 days out of fear.

            To be clear ***** only had the pet in question for a few days before requesting that he be re-homed. As indicated by her own phone calls and e-mails she simply was not willing to invest the time and patience necessary to allow him to settle into his new environment. There was, at no point in time, reference made to being afraid of the pet. ***** paid one adoption fee of $325.00. Arrangements were made to return a portion of this and a transfer subsequently sent off to her. She has not completed this electronic transfer. Oasis staff are always part of the adoption process from start to finish. In this instance no one was available to travel into Toronto on the day that was convenient for ***** and she elected to arrange and attend a “meet & greet” herself. Obviously it is our mistake to have allowed this to happen. Sadly the dog was the one who suffered for in the course of less than a week he was bounced between three separate owners. This is a lesson well learnt.
