Numerous individuals have detailed instances of being contacted by ComparAction under deceptive circumstances or without proper authorization. Furthermore, there are concerns raised by certain consumers regarding the targeting or misguidance of elderly family members, leading to difficulties when attempting to cancel services. On April 19, 2024, BBB submitted a written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints.

            The business responded on May 10, 2024, and agreed to take the following actions:


            1. We will review our Agent’s training
            2. We will verifying all enrollments are valid.
            3. We will meet with our Managers and supervisors explaining the importance of these
                    allegations.

            A company called ComparAction sent my dad (senior) an invoice for a service he never signed up with. I called the company they claimed the provided long distance for ****. I called **** they denied every working with this company. The company said they would refer the issue to the billing department. Looks like a **** company running in Canada and should be shut down ASAP. My dad did not sign up for any such service, it is a small amount, but praying on seniors should be illegal. Make me wonder how many people are actually paying these ********? They should lose any licenses they have.

            ComparAction has wrongly claimed to be providing long distance services to my elderly aunt and uncle (at an old phone number). In May 2024 they started mailing invoices for a very small amount ($17.33) - supposedly for 8 months of service after a one year free trial. They are threatening further unpleasant matters if it is not paid. Of note this elderly couple has been with Bell for many years and they still are with Bell at their new address and phone number. They had never heard of ComparAction until the billing started in May 2024. I have called ComparAction and asked them to close the alleged account and back off. They transferred it to the billing department and I am supposed to call back in a week. This situation sounds very familiar to the other complaints listed on this web site. We will not be paying them.
