      ComparAction has wrongly claimed to be providing long distance services to my elderly aunt and uncle (at an old phone number). In May 2024 they started mailing invoices for a very small amount ($17.33) - supposedly for 8 months of service after a one year free trial. They are threatening further unpleasant matters if it is not paid. Of note this elderly couple has been with Bell for many years and they still are with Bell at their new address and phone number. They had never heard of ComparAction until the billing started in May 2024. I have called ComparAction and asked them to close the alleged account and back off. They transferred it to the billing department and I am supposed to call back in a week. This situation sounds very familiar to the other complaints listed on this web site. We will not be paying them.

      This is a scam company that preys on the elderly by sending out long distance transfer forms that are disguised as invoices. They are criminals.

      I give them a - ??. I called and had this service cancelled fall of 2023 for my mother as she had a package deal with BellMTS. They have billed her every month since. She paid a for months worth until i told her no more. *** contacted them through email to stop billing her. I've also told them i would contact the BBB if they do not stop. I see they have billed my mom once again. She wont be paying them another cent. The billing needs to stop. Very angry daughter of ex customer.

      Scam , my 83 Uncle got bills at his assisted living home and he said he didnt agree to this long distance account We dont get mail at his assisted living as I take care of all his affairs, as he is not capable of any financial issues, I have POA So all his government etc Only come to my home as im the only one to look after his wellbeing and all his decisions, medical and financial This is a form of financial abuse, preying on the elderly, that cant make any decisions because of dementia ************ should be ashamed of themselves, this is very disturbing ************************* ******** ********

      Contacted my 85 yr old grandmother, got her signed up, took over her long distance from ****, and when she got the bill didn't have a clue what it was, then cut off her long distance on her. These scam artists prey on vulnerable seniors. They should be charged. I want services cancelled and her 2 mos bill taken away.

      Scam artist praying on elderly. They got ahold of my father who has MS, they wouldnt know that but still the elderly. Signed him up for this long distance package when they already have long distance with their phone provider. Now theyve blocked them from calling long distance and they literally just received their first bill. All of their family is out of province including grandkids. What a bunch of scammers.

      My mother who is 94 and hard of hearing received a call from comparaction in November. They told her about their long distance service and that they would send her information and a magazine for free. They somehow got an ok to do this. My mom thought they were sending information but what they did do is transfer her long distance to them. My mother was on the bundle from her telephone provider and was not aware of the transfer. She was still continuing to be billed by her previous provider so had no idea that her long distance was transferred to comparaction. She received a bill from comparaction for services from November to Feb for *****. When phoning the company they said it is recorded that my mother gave a verbal consent which I told them was not a informed consent they said they would terminate her long distance and I told them she should not have to pay the bill as it was an uninformed consent. They said would put it through an investigative review and I could call in 2 days to see what the result was. When calling back they said mom had to pay the amount and had suspended her account till bill was paid and how would I like to pay. My mother will send a cheque as we dont want to give these people a credit card number. They said she will get one more bill form Feb 1 to 22. Once paid up they will terminate her account. I know my mother will not get reimbursement but need to make sure this does not happen again or to anyone else and that they arent able to control her long distance again. She is back on long distance with previous provider but they allowed this company to take over without informing my mother of the exchange. Whats to stop them from doing again? Clearly this company salespeople are working on commission as they are scamming seniors! This needs to stop!

      don't use this service, is my advice. We used them for years, then upgraded our bell service to include long distance as part of our home phone package...then i contacted Comparaction to cancel my service with them. The nice lady told me, i could simply leave it as is, in case i need it again at some point. Very naively, i agreed. So they just kept debiting my account. So them i closed my comparaction with them, and you would think that would stop the debits. It did not. When we pointed out we were still being debited, they informed us we no longer have an account with them, so what is our issue. Now some months later, they STILL debit the account. So today i informed them if they take another ***** out of the account, I will let the bank go after them for fraud. I kinda hope they do, cuz i would like to see them punished.

      I was contacted by them roughly 6-8 months ago and told there was no charge for their actions. Seeing it was a CARP affiliated company and there were no fees I gave them my information. I have never used their services but have started receiving their emails suggesting immediate action, all of which I have not opened. How do I get out of this annoying scam?

      This company began billing my 90-year-old father for long distance services to which he did not consent. I called to cancel, and the customer service rep tried to convince me that **** no longer provided long distance services. When she finally relented and canceled the account, she confirmed that long distance services would return to Bell. Be wary of this company, which is apparently associated with CARP.
