      I opened my Desjardins bank account in June 2022 at the University of Quebec Trois Rivieres location while I worked there for the summer. After opening my account, I asked if I could make international money transfers, and I was told that yes, they set that up for me. In August 2022, I moved back to the US. When I attempted to make an international transfer from my Desjardins account to my US account (via AccesD), I was told that I did not have permission to do this, and that I would need to visit my local branch, of course, I was already in the US, and couldn't do so. I repeatedly called Desjardins to see what I could do. After waiting on hold for five hours, and explaining my situation, the person on the phone berated me and in a very demeaning voice told me that maybe I should have checked it was working before leaving the country. They said that I would have a really hard time getting my money and that I should call someone else because they couldn't help me. This led to months of me calling different people at the bank, waiting hours at a time, and then being directed to a new person who would eventually tell me that they couldn't help me. I also made appointments with the Trois Rivieres branch, and I would either never receive and answer, or no one would show up to the appointment (despite confirming the date and time). After I was given a potential solution by someone at the bank (using a bank draft) and being told to contact my branch for more information on this, I reached out to my branch again with this potential solution. I sent multiple emails, attempted to call, and never received a response.

      I was a customer of theirs for 10 years for life **********************. After that period, they started charging me four times the original amount stated in the contract. I knew the contract had ended, and they should have informed me of any changes. However, they claimed I had signed a renewal option 10 years ago.Firstly, when I signed the contract ten years ago, I was new to ****** and not fully informed about all the clauses. The terms were not explained to me, and I was simply asked to sign the document. It is unreasonable to expect me to remember the details of a contract signed so long ago without a thorough explanation at that time.Secondly, the recent increase in the payment amount is unacceptable. They increased the price to four times what I originally paid without prior consultation or notification. Such a significant increase should have been communicated to me before any deductions were made.In addition, in situations where they are not receiving a response from their customer, it would be appropriate to ask their representative to find the new address and updated contact information for their customer. This would ensure proper communication and prevent misunderstandings.Given these circumstances, I believe it is unfair to enforce the new amount. It is not acceptable to deduct such a large amount without my consent, as I did not sign any new contract or agreement for continued coverage. Additionally, their company did not have the right to automatically renew and deduct funds from my account without my explicit consent.I request prompt attention to this matter and a refund of my money.
