Our PAID extra legroom seat that were purchased 9 months prior to flying were magically given away. They claim system automatic reseating happened ??They said they couldnt give us back our seats, and said we can separate our seating. What a load of crap! BEWARE if you purchase seats in advance, they can take them away from you at any point and not care one bit about making it right! Not giving us any solution or compensating their MISTAKE. No accountability on their part. VERY poor customer service. Definitely their customers are not priority!Review from Marina K

I booked a trip from ******* to ****** last year. Direct flights both ways. May 26-June 17. I then booked all of our ********************** A few months later Air Transat changed the departure flight. Leaving ******* & stopping overnight in ********. Then leaving the next evening to ******. So now we have to spend an extra night in ************* arrive in ****** a day earlier. So had to pay extra for hotels for 2 ************** I called several ************ couldnt do anything about it. Why couldnt they at least get us a flight from ******* to ******** the same morning then leave for ****** later that same day. No one would help!Review from Hubswifey E

Booked a honeymoon to ****** through Transat. Paid for 'Luxury' accommodations and received none of that. Booked adults only section, was put in the far back of the resort. No biggie, we can live with that. Luxury included 7 A la cartes, which sounded lovely since this was our honeymoon. No one informed us that we have to book in advance on an app for these dinners. I found out two days prior to our flight from a *************** I immediately logged in the app and was only able to book two restaurants. Once at the resort, I spoke to the concierge; he confirmed they were full but advised us to check in around dinner time as a lot of people don't show. We tried this every night and were BRIBED to get a table. Even though the restaurants were half empty, they told us they have no room UNLESS we pay $40-$60 US for a bottle of wine. Can you imagine? Paying a lot of money for Luxury accommodations and then expected to pay a fortune for wine in order to get a table that you've already paid for. How insulting when we paid for Luxury which was supposed to include dinners. Absolutely disappointing. Transat and Bahia Resorts both apologize and take zero responsibility for ripping customers off.Review from Sandi J

My kids bought me a vacation for my 69th birthday. I booked with Air Transat. I had never used them before. I bought cancellation insurance. Unfortunately I got sick and had to cancel. Now, I can't get travel insurance, so I thought I can go somewhere in ******. There are no flights within ****** before the credit expires. Air Transat refuses to extend the credit. How is that fair? Air Transat call centre do not deal with Customer Relations. I have emailed, called numerous times and been told someone would call me and no one does. The supervisors and Managers do not call. Customer Relations is non existent. You get a different story each time you call. I paid for my seat selection and on the return flight I asked the airport representative I wanted to change my seat which I paid for to an aisle seat. I was told the flight was full and no aisle seats. My friends travelling with me did not pay for a seat selection and did their 24 hour checkin were seated at the back of place. They walked up to the same airport rep and were both given aisle seats. I was not able to move as I was in the middle seat and ended up with blood clot. No one is calling me back with answers why I was lied to.Review from Emily D

Three big flags:1. We never received a transaction/confirmation receipt for our $2,000 flight purchase, and we had to reach out via support to get access to our booking reference and tickets. 2. They do not send 24 hour reminder emails for flights. Which are industry standard. These (easily solved) issues would have helped us not miss our returning flight. Which due to the complete lack of communication from Air Transat, we had assumed was on a different day. Rebooking on another airline last minute costs us an additional $3000. 3. And the kicker to top it all off, since this flight, customer support is not answering any of our emails to investigate why we did not receive any communication regarding our flight (purchase receipt or 24 hours reminder email), common requirements for flights.Review from Shawn M

Hello, I use Air Transat all the time being my wife and I, family and friends as we are retired and live in the ******************. Sadly last month we had to fly home as my wife was diagnosed with brain cancer, stage 4 and now palliative with months left :(. I purchased tickets to fly back to DR from ******** last week and bought our usual eco-budget as we never fly first class. Flight leaves today (Oct 18) and 5 days ago, my wife suffered another stroke and doctor gave order that she is unfit/unsafe to fly for minimum 2 weeks as air in brain. I immediately called then emailed Air Transat advising this and provided doctor note. I booked this trip knowing she only has weeks/months left and her dying wish was to return home to say her goodbyes to friends and our 6 rescue dogs :(. I found 2 family members that would use our tickets to go live in our home and take care of dogs until our return in hopefully, 2 weeks or when doctor deemed her fit to fly. This was 5 days ago and Air Transat only had to change 2 names on tickets. I did not ask for a refund and/or credit. I was told if I purchased an upgrade ticket, they could but not on budget one :(. I couldnt believe what I was hearing from customer service and how can an airline be so insensitive:(. This was appalling and pray this never happened to anyone else. I lost $1187 and at a time when money is such an issue with my wifes health. So so awful of Air Transat with lack of compassion. Thank you for reading. *****Review from RICHARD B

Employee at ****** has been totally disrespecful to me and trying to lecture me. i was dealing with another employee and she intervened in our discussion. I was not happy at all about her behaviour and i couldn't help to shout a swear about her. She asked me to repeat and i didn't want the interaction becoming worst and i didn't say nothing. She went to see me and looked at me hardly trying again to lecture me. I hold her gaze and told her that she was working to help customers and not to make problems with them.Briefly she was trying to tell me that i was responsible and had to pay for my error. I told her that this was not a problem for me. The problem was that i wanted an official receipt since i was paying 70$US in cash. This was the fees to return a luggage that i mistakenly took from another passenger. Still i wonder if Air Transat is not the one paying for returning the luggage, if not, then i wonder why is it so expensive to deliver a luggage to Riviera May. Moreover is there any compensation going to go to that passenger, as the man told me, from my 70$US...Review from Sue S

July 25/23. We will never travel with this airline again! They gave no concern with regards to cleanliness or sanitation during food preparation on our flight from **** to ******* with a stopover in ********. We sat directly across from the galley where food preparation was to take place during the flight. Shortly after takeoff, the flight attendants were setting coffee service. Water poured from the machines all down the service counter to the floor and ran out the galley to the bulkhead areas. It pooled on the galley floor and at the feet of a very elderly woman. Attendants tried to mop the area with wads of napkins, first using their feet then their hands. Attendants then took these dirty, wet napkins off the floor and began wiping the food counter and fronts of the food cabinets. Without hand washing or sanitizing they then handled the coffee pots and the food containing cabinets. We were horrified. Attendants placed many napkins on the floor in front of the elderly woman to sop up the water and left them there. They gave her airsickness bags to place on her feet! The attendants one again did not wash their hands and moved on to assist with food preparation. Later, an attendant dropped a can of soda on the dirty floor which rolled down the aisle. The attendant picked it up, at first pretended to set the can aside, then quickly added it to the rest of the cans in the trolley, therefore contaminating the other cans. People had been walking through the galley to the washroom the whole flight. It was also used as a passage for passengers entering the plane. We have just come out of a pandemic and should be hyper vigilant regarding cleanliness. There was total disregard for passenger safety! Also, our luggage was not directly transferred. It was left in ********. We had no updates whatsoever. If it hadnt been for our luggage AirTags, I am not sure where they would be now. They relied on OUR AIRTAG INFORMATION to locate our luggage! This airline is consistently putting profit over customer service. In one round trip alone check-in app had a glitch so we werent able to check in and ended up not seated next to my wife. Charged a $150 fee to even ************* on the route back. Spent 45mins on hold to get a real human for customer service who wasnt able to solve this issue. Flight was delayed with no notice given. On route back home the carryon that fit on the way there, in Europe on ******* flights to and from ********* from ******* all of a sudden is considered a checked bag and absolutely wont fit in the cabin. For another fee of $75eu I can now check this in. This level of support/service is just wrong. I know Im not the only person having issues with this airline. There needs to be a full review of your business practices here as we the passengers feel like products and not customers.
