So far great experience with Clear Estate navigating an estate in **********. As an out of country executor, Clear Estate has been extremely helpful with forms and dealing with the courts. Much better alternative to going directly to a probate lawyer.Review from Jodie H

ClearEstate was recommended by my moms hospice team to handle her estate after her passing. They were amazing! - excellent communication, guidance and support. They broke things down into little steps and followed through / checked in with me after each step. All my questions were responded to quickly / same day or next business day. The services started out ok, but after my representative was changed, effective communication stopped with clear estate. I would tell anyone.... Hire a probate lawyer!!!!!!!!! Currently, I've submitted all of my documentation and I have to wait for clear estate. No one seems to be working on my paperwork. VERY FRUSTRATING.!!Clear Estate Technologies Inc Response

As a result, there are multiple court hearings as well as additional processes and procedures that must be fulfilled. For instance, a property must be assessed firstly by a *************** for its value on the Date of Death as well as an additional appraisal at the current market value. The *************** sets up the timeline and it is not in our discretion to make it quicker.Our team is committed to improving communication channels and ensuring that you are kept informed at every stage of the process.Thank you for your patience and understanding. Do yourself a favor and move on. We hired ClearEstate in Oct'22 and they were initially helpful for about 6 months. Then the turnover started and hasn't stopped which makes building any sort relationship impossible. Their portal looks slick but has large functionality problems to the point that they said I should stop trying to input data there. I have had outstanding questions out to our current 'rep' for over a week without a response after 3 follow-**** I think they must have run into funding issues and it would honestly surprise me if they are still a viable company in 18 months.Clear Estate Technologies Inc Response

ClearEstate has not just provided us with an excellent service, they've also offered us peace of mind. For a while, we'd been procrastinating on getting our ***** and estate plan done, even after significant life events like marriage and having our child. However, after a family health issue, we were convinced to expedite the process, especially before undertaking any travel.This is where ClearEstate stepped in, and I can honestly say that they have been a godsend. They have been extremely helpful, guiding us through the process with transparency and patience, explaining all necessary steps and ensuring we fully understood our decisions and their implications. Despite our busy schedules, they were incredibly flexible with meeting times, accommodating our needs without a hitch.Their online portal deserves special mention. I hired ************ in Nov 2021 following the unexpected death of my father. I was directed to them under a false promise that they would be able to help, Initially they seemed like a legitimate company with very promising information. As time went on the true colors showed. The one time fee turned into several unexpected additional fees. I was unknowledgable in the estate process therefore I trusted them to guide me. Only once I got to have a video call with my representative, all other communications have been via their platform, no phone calls no emails, my representativew has switched at least 4-5 times. Very minimal help/direction from them regarding financials. It is now Feb **** and they still have yet to finalize the estate. They have made accounting errors in processing the taxes. When I questioned this they were unable to clearly explain how they received their numbers to the point I had to hire another accountant to review. Went downhill fast. My experience started out strong, then I felt completely neglected. In the course of 3 months I had six different contacts. I had to ping for responses constantly and they upsold me on a service I didn't need. I have spoken to managers and tried to go through proper channels but nothing happened. Will not recommend. This company takes advantage of customers being stressed of losing their loved ones, make lots of promises but are not capable to keep them. My case was not complex but they managed to complete probation forms incorrectly and preparing estate tax was another failure. I ended up cancelling the tax engagement and had to do estate tax myself 2 days before the deadline. Clear Estate refuse to provide full refund. This was fixed price engagement that should have resulted in submitting tax file that contains correct estate tax information to CRA and was unfulfilled. This is the summary of my experience with ClearEstate: Communication • other that initial meeting everything goes through chat in the platform. Some advisors take weeks to respond. Not allowed to communicate directly to the estate tax accountant . Customer service • Estate specialists keep changing and have questionable expertise. I had four during my engagement. • My probate application documents were filled incorrectly with multiple mistakes and were rejected due to missing information. • At the initial consultation the accountant failed to provide an advice to the assets disposition to defer high estate tax • There was no questionnaire, template or guided vizard to provide requirements to the client of what information/reports/tax slips or other documents required based on assets • My request to provide tax file for review by April10th was ignored and no completion date was provided • After multiple reminders and follow ups, with 3 business days left to the deadline I finally received the tax submission form to sign. There was no review or my agreement with the amounts listed. • The information in T1 had multiple errors and there was no effort from accountant to connect with me and walk through the tax file and explain where the amounts came from.
