      I had an execrable and unacceptable experience with Canassistance for a flight cancelled due to illness.I had to cancel this flight because the same day, I found myself in the emergency room.I got the airline to reimburse me for the flight, $1,683.55. But they charged me $625 for cancelling my flight.So I saved Canassistance $1058.55 in travel insurance.But I am being denied the $625 refund because its a penalty and not an air flight.It is inconceivable.

      complete waste of time and effort. This company is a third party deflector for claims. They do their utmost to delay or deny your claim. I have insurance with ********** and submitted a claim for lost baggage. I submitted the claim online and provided the required documentation meticulously according to their requests. I did not hear back and called 28 days later. Very frustrating because they requested information that they already had! like flight invoice, list of items purchased, receits for items, and wanting a statement from the air company which I did not have nor could obtain. Airlines are quite devious in their own way as well when it comes to flight delays and lost baggage all in an effort to avoid paying claims. I shutter at the thought of making a medical claim after this experience over lost baggage. Third party deflection should not be allowed because they only have one mandate - deny claims. This may be the end of ********** travel insurance.

      Since the employer switched to CanAssistance we did not have much choice. I hope the switch was made because of the low price because they are lacking in every other area. The wait time is long; employees lack training, knowledge and people skills; hospitals are threatening to ask us to pay and then we should try to recover our costs. I would give them a zero if possible!!!!!!

      I have been trying for over 1 year to have my ********** claim reviewed and unfortunatly they wash their hands of dealing with their claimants and use Can Assistance as their claim adjusters. Never have I ever encountered such an inefficient and incompetent organization that is void of any communication abilities and clueless when it comes to processing a claim. All requisite info has been provided and I have been asking for an escalation of my claim. Impossible to speak with an adjuster, just front line phone operators. They deserve a negative star.

      Yeah this company has problems. I hope you have time to wait on the phone (hours). Unresponsive, no follow up, always guessing on your file status take forever to claim. Not fraudulent (i believe still), quite terrible service. Once you get them on the phone they seem nice, but powerless. Avoid if you can, in my case i couldnt avoid due to rental car claim.

      Need to have negative stars! Filed claim for hospital stay in July2022. 8 months later, still not paid. I have been on hold 2 different times for over 3 hrs . I forgot to count number of times I have been transferred. I have paper trails of list of excuses. Todays excuse was form we sent in Oct was blurry yet NO contact from them. I cannot fathom the inefficiency of a company recommended by ******************** They had the money out of my account before I finished requesting the insurance yet when trying to get it paid mission impossible!!

      Absolute garbage company to deal with. My father had required emergency surgery abroad and the string of errors they made - of course with minimal communication - was abhorrent. when i threatened legal pursuit, we finally got an assigned agent to the case and somewhat better communication. they sent a nurse from ****** who made an incorrect assessment of the situation resulting in an additional 3 weeks in hospital in europe unecessarily with NO additional treatment plan because they 'don't cover that'. being bedridden (he just now needed physio) meant his physical state deteriorated further. the problem ended up being in ****** where no bed was available. all this without our knowledge until after the fact. furthermore, all communication stopped from them once he was back, but the hospital bill (which was astronomical at this point) remained unpaid and my parents were harassed for weeks. it is still unresolved to date. they have been back in ****** for almost 4 weeks now.

      If I could leave a negative star rating, I absolutely would!Terrible, terrible experience. Unjustly denied claim stating pre-existing condition which is ABSOLUTELY FALSE backed by medical records! CanAssistance basing their denial on incorrect information and themselves falsifying information! Absolute delay tactics in hopes someone will not challenge them. Shameful. This insurance was purchased through ********** as their baggage/trip cancellation, Trip interruption insurer.Nothing more than a scam. STAY AWAY!!!!Pursuing legal acton!
