Since the summer of 2021 up until very recently Polus telecommunications has been contracted through ******* to do directional drilling in our neighbourhood for fiber optics. Without our knowledge or consent a large hole was dug under our new 8 foot pvc custom fence. We were unaware that this had been done because the post sits behind a shed. This spring we noticed a significant sagging in our fence and went into the berm to find out why. They left the post with approximately 50-70 pounds of concrete attached to the bottom free floating in a four foot hole. This caused significant damage to the rest of the fence. My husband had to ratchet the post to a tree in our yard to stop the fence from falling over. when I reached out to the crew manager he responded by sending out an employee to simply fill the hole about two weeks later but the realignment and the rest of the damage was not addressed. Through repeated calls, unanswered texts and eventually ignoring my calls all together I finally posted on their contact page and was contacted by the owner who showed up the next day. He agreed they were responsible but now says it's only to resettle the post. He wants me to use his "fence guy" but refuses to show me a quote for the work. I want my original fence company to fix the fence and expect Polus to pay for it. I received a very fair quote. Polus has ended all communication with me and has basically said good luck in collecting anything from them. I would like to finish this by saying my 8 foot custom fence has been discontinued by the company due to covid, the only parts available are through my original fence company which stockpiles their inventory. I have been nothing but polite with Polus but have been met with disdain, unanswered messages and no shows. After meeting with their fence guy, he admitted that he has only worked with a few of these types of fences. I just want this resolved. Polus has a duty of care and needs to accept responsibility.
