We purchased a 2014 ******************* on the 22 if February. It ran for one day and died. There was a check engine light on when purchased, and he said it was nothing and turned it off. It also shifted heavy. I am not car savvy. He said it was because it was cold. Ok. Seems reasonable as it is winter and oil could be thicker. I have no idea. Son drove it home and went to start the next day and it wouldn't. Boosted it and it started. Then it died a soon as it was turned off for a second. It would not boost again. I contacted dealer that day. He immediately tried to blame us. I told him we want to bring car back. He said no. Refused any responsibility. Told us what part to order. I ordered it, and still expressed that we did nothing to car. He blames a backward boost. It was NOT boosted backwards. Tried to set up a time to take the car in for him to look at. He refuses. Always unavailable. Put part in and car ran for a couple days and quit again. Dealer told me he would get in touch when he was available, waited almost a month with no contact. Messaged again and he acted like he knew nothing about car and couldn't remember. Again I said we wanted to get car to him. Became ignorant and blamed us again. Decided to buy a new battery in hopes even though other one tested fine. Worked for a few days. Again. Died and won't boost. This has been an expensive ongoing issue with no cooperation from dealer. There is no patience left in me.

      Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/19) */ ******************************************************************************************************* This letter is in regards to *********** and the 2014 *****. This car was sold in perfect running condition other than check engine light was on. We both agreed it was not a big deal at the time as it ran perfectly and had well over 200k inspections were also given to her. Car was taken and a few days later called to tell me battery was dead. I suggested maybe headlight switch was left on as these cars have automatic headlights and sometimes peopl turn the switch to on also. She them informed me that possible it was boosted wrong so I suggested changing a fuse in the block. She then ordered a fuse box and got a freind to install it and then got the car started. Damage had been done and a bunch of codes were stored in computer relating to this. She wanted to return the car in which I refused because it was now not in the same condition as I sold it. I told her I could take it back and try figure it out and resell for her or possible trade in for another car of equal value. My son drove this car for 3 weeks prior parked outside in cold weather started everytime no issues. I don't believe we should be responsible for a problem after the sale for a problem caused by the consumer and obviously the car is not in the condition it was sold in.In regards to shifting hard that was not an issue and I'm guessing there is a electrical code stored in the transmission side of the pcm after boosting( quite common. Electrical surges cause all kinds of damage to components.I sold a perfectly running car that was drove 2 hours away with no issues. I should not be responsible for this( it would be like plugging a tv into 220 power when it's 110v).I suggest they contact *** as with plates on it they have insurance that covers this and will either fix or total loss the vehicle. I've been a auto dealer for over 20 years and am very reasonable but this situation pushes it over the top. Please feel free to call me if I need anything 306-******** thanks
