I've wanted ****** siding for a long time. Finally pulled the trigger and hired APCO. The sales experience and install was ok, no real complaints. A year later we see splotches of slight discoloration all over the house. Nothing up high, mainly at the first level. I reached out to APCO and they immediately wanted to paint my entire house to make it all uniform which I thought was odd. They said they believed ****** was using inferior paint on their products, especially darker colors, during the paint shortage of 2021 or so. So, if it's ******** issue, why are they chomping at the bit to foot the bill to paint my house? Needless to say, I told them to hold off. I paid a lot of money for ****** siding and don't want my factory finished siding painted over. At least not this soon. Who knows if the painter they use will do a great job anyway. I filed a warranty claim with ****** and they said it appeared APCO went a little crazy with the non-****** specified touch up paint, slathering it all over the place and it was aging at a different rate as the factory applied finish. They informed me that even if they used the correct paint, if a required touch up is larger than a coin, the whole board should be replaced. I did see the ******************************* cans around the yard during the install and do believe this was the case. I asked APCO if they would replace the siding on 3 elevations that are particularly bad in lieu of painting the whole house, but they choose to not respond. So, contrary to what they pride themselves on in their ads, you cannot trust APCO. If you are going to use them, grill them on their plan for touch **** I am now stuck with a bad looking install on a product I have always liked and wanted because I picked a poor installation contractor. I don't blame the install crew, they were great and got after it. Their APCO office/bosses are the ones falling down on the job.
