    The mission of the Rockford Park District Foundation is to assist the Rockford Park District by securing philanthropic support on its behalf and enhancing awareness of the District's benefits to the community.


Programs

YOUTHIn 2015, the Rockford Park District Foundation raised $50,000 towards the established goal of $500,000 for the Legacy Youth Programs. For generations, legacy programs such as youth golf lessons, summer camp, swim lessons or simply playing a game of tag at the many summer playgrounds. These programs have taught children important lessons and established life-long leisure skills they will use throughout adulthood. The endowment will ensure these critical activities will be available for generations to come. In addition to the endowment goal, the Foundation was pledged to raise $35,000 cash to assist with the current programs and projects that currently need support. The annual fundraiser was held in October 2015 and raised over $50,000 COMMUNITYThe Riverfront Boat Dock campaign was completed. $195,046 has been raised to complete the Boat Dock last summer. A dedication is planned for Spring of 2016.Also in 2015, over $10,000 was raised through the Eclipse Lagoon Brick program. The bricks are a community campaign to allow all citizens the opportunity to remember or honor a loved one or a special moment. MEMORIALLife is full of occasions to celebrate - weddings, births, anniversaries, the lives of loved ones lost. The Rockford Park District Foundation's Celebrate Life program in 2015 assisted 266 families in our community to commemorate a loved one through planting of 6 trees and 6 benches a ball washer and a ball holder in one of the many parks or golf courses of the Rockford Park District.
