      Embrace filed a claim without my consent for my second dog. I’ve emailed numerous times-no response. I’ve called and have been on hold for total of half an hour. I work full time and don’t have time for this-I didn’t file a claim for my second dog because I know it is not covered. Then they deny the claim-so they create a claim and then deny it and don’t respond to anything. Unprofessional, unacceptable, and it’s costing me money because now I don’t get $50 towards his deductible since this year a claim was filed. If a claim wasn’t filed this year, $50 would have lowered his deductible in the case I actually did have a reason to file a claim. If embrace had responded three days ago, I wouldn’t be complaining. But since they don’t respond and continue to show incompetence, I’m hoping this will improve things at least for overall business. Military members are supposed to be priority but they’ve been a huge inconvenience so far.

      I would not even give this company 1 star. They find any reason not to cover your claims. They do not inform you by mail only email ( which we know can be lost in spam files) that your premium is going up or that claims are being denied. My pets were insured with them for only one year and my policy increased by 50%. I have never seen such price gouging by a company not to mention all the aggravation of getting my claims paid. I had to file 2 appeals in one year. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

      We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your policy, *****. We strive to be upfront about our primary communication method and coverage, including the exclusion of pre-existing conditions which is defined and agreed upon in our terms and conditions: 32. Pre-existing Condition(s) means: a. A Chronic Condition observed by you or your Veterinary Provider prior to the end of the Waiting Period for your Pet(s) and any related conditions; or b. An Illness or Injury that first occurred or showed Clinical Signs prior to the end of the Waiting Period for your Pet and any related conditions. c. Undiagnosed conditions with the same Clinical Signs as those in a. or b. above are also considered pre-existing. 17. Electronic Delivery By accepting the terms of this insurance as evidenced by the payment of premiums, it is agreed that, unless otherwise notified by you, all documents, notices and communications regarding this policy, other than documents required to be delivered by another method, may be delivered to you by electronic mail using the email associated with your account. It is your responsibility to keep your contact details including email address current and correct. Ultimately we are bound to the policy terms and conditions when it comes to processing claims, but we are able to take another look if an appeal is submitted with additional information. We want to assure you we love paying claims and 92% of our claims qualify for coverage. We know a premium increase is never ideal. Premiums do increase over time with all insurance products, and pet insurance is no exception. We do send an email out about a month prior to your policy renewal and it has the renewal quote attached. Some of the factors that impact premiums each year include the age of a pet, tenure of the policy, and inflation which includes the increase in veterinary costs. Our premiums are based on actuarial data of all the policies we have in force. Over the lifetime with any pet insurance company you are likely to see very similar trends, it just may vary when the increase happens. We do structure our policies to allow each pet parent to change coverage parameters to adjust the premium based on what they feel is best for their individual pet and situation.       My premium was raised almost 50%, I have my dogs insured with Pets Best and our premium for 2 dogs was raised 20% after the 1st year as opposed to your increase of 50%. Also my cat was sent to the internist for a mass that my vet detected on her exam. That was what the ultrasound was for not a loss of appetite. We all know that 2 different diseases may have the same symptoms but are totally unrelated. In my doctors notes it also included a mass or lymph vs intestinal. I also spoke to my veterinarian and she was not even contacted to discuss the claim as she stated in her letter to your company. I feel you dismissed my claim without proper investigation.
