I have tried to reach 21st Century for months. They sent auto insurance renewal by mail but will not answer my calls so I dropped them and changed insurance companies. 21st Century has an open bodily injury claim open on my previous policy which has never been used....zero dollars. I mailed letters requesting a letter of claims experience and I received no response. It is over 2 years old and it has caused a much higher policy for me because they will not close my open disposition.21st Century Insurance Response

21st Century cancelled my auto policy and sent me directly to collections. My bank card expired. I got no phone calls or letters! I didn’t even even know until collections started contacting me. I paid and tried to renew my policy but their website directs California residents to a 1-800 number that redirects to the website. 21st Century harmed my credit and was inaccessible when I tried to get a new policy. I feel this is discrimination against California residents and puts me in a dangerous situation because I have to find a new insurer in the meantime with no coverage! My Home Insurance more than doubled in the last two years. I have never made a claim, my credit score is good, and escrow covers everything. When my escrow was falling short, I discovered my home insurance more than doubled in 2 years! Farmers would not give an explanation and basically told me to pay the $4.3k policy or leave. Oh, I left all right. On switching, I found that the other Tier 1 Home Insurance companies were roughly less than half the cost of Farmers which seems about right. I bundled hoe and auto and found one for 1/3rd of Farmers cost. To me, this suggests Farmers is either incompetent to run an insurance company or is unethical hoping people who use auto-withdrawal or escrow won't notice. I'd give zero stars if I could. My wife and I have been with 21st Century for decades. We were just moved over to Toggle Auto Insurance and our rates went up $600.00. Now I can’t reach 21st or Toggle by phone, they are not responding after numerous attempts. Our only alternative is to go on line and cancel. Hopefully, that won’t be a nightmare as well. We will never do business with them ever again and will let people know on Social Media too.Review from Indra K.

Should be a zero.. I paid early. They kept my money and it wasn't even due yet. Watch out cause they will automatically check the small auto pay box for you. Had to go to my bank. Block any future bills from them. The bank gave my money back and filed a report against them. And everyone is right about talking on the phone. DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE!!!!Review from Kennisa W

My insurance rate went up w/o explanation and after years of using autopay all of a sudden, my payment will not go thru. I have called several times and no one answers…all numbers related to 21st lead to the same dead end message. I responded to an email they sent me and it was returned. Let my ins lapse. Got AAA. Zero stars - I have been insured with 21st for over 20 years. In the last couple of years, there is no way to actually speak to a representative about a policy without waiting literally hours and hours on hold. I have called at 7am right when they open and get the standard "your wait time is over 20 or 40 minutes" blah blah blah. I have also stayed on hold until after hours thinking surely they don't just leave people hanging. Wrong - I think I would have heard that message for the next 12 hours if I let it. They have no published email, tried to make policy changes online only to be presented a message that says I must speak to someone only nobody ever answers. they need to hire customer service reps to at the very least handle the phone calls and take messages so that something can be handled in a timely manner. I literally was on hold today for over an hour to try to cancel my auto policy and nobody ever picked up. Last month I was on hold for a total of 8 hours over the course of 2 days before a person actually answered who was rude, and ended up telling me they no longer provide the coverage I was after!! Then I got a notice that I owed an additional $54 or they will cancel my policy effective 10/30. I have zero intention of paying any additional amount and am trying to cancel my policy sooner since I found affordable insurance elsewhere. It is ridiculous!! How am I supposed to cancel my policy if I cannot speak to someone and I cannot do it online? HORRIBLE - don't get insurance with them. The last several years have been awful experience. Perhaps contacting the Department of Insurance would be a good idea as well.Review from Carolyn K

I am astounded on how long I have been on hold trying to reach customer service with this company who I need to trust with my car insurance policy. Re-thinking that for sure! In the past two days, I have been on hold for over 4 hours. I have tried several numbers listed for customer service and same thing. I even called the claims department hoping I can get someone to talk to me and maybe transfer me. Got someone right away but since I didn't have a "actual claim", she couldn't help me. She could only sympathize with me and transfer me to the "expedite line" which she said would put me ahead in the queue. I've now been on hold for over 45 minutes so not sure if that worked. All in all, I have been on hold just today for over 1 hour and half and yesterday before giving up, two and a half hours. Absolutely unacceptable!Review from Paul A

1:30 minutes so far waiting n the phone to delete a driver from my policy. Can't do it from the website and can't get through to their customer service. Miserable experience and have had enough of this company!
