    Over the past 2.5 years, my wife and I have had three cats treated at Bay Glen Animal Hospital for their primary care for routine exams and for occasional medical problems. The service has varied from good to bad. My experience today has convinced me not to return. In 2020, one of our cats died at Bay Glen during non surgery, non emergency treatment, during which we were not allowed to be present. We were not told what happened. There are several doctors on staff, so it has been challenging to try to describe years of our cats' history to each doctor. One cat had been referred to an oncologist, a service not provided at Bay Glen, and we've had issues getting records communicated between offices. Then, the treatment provided by the oncologist resulted in our cat going blind. So, we were referred to a third doctor, an ophthalmologist, who found his blood pressure to be off scale high, causing his retinas to detach. Neither Bay Glen nor the oncologist had ever measured our cat's blood pressure, even though the literature for his medication advised that this caused high BP and to monitor it closely. The ophthalmologist prescribed a pill which normalized his blood pressure and his vision returned. I can't determine if the doctors at Bay Glen have access to and have read the treatment records from the other doctors' offices to provide a comprehensive treatment plan. Our cat has been on four medications for several months. Bay Glen prescribed three more this week. That appointment provided a great deal of helpful diagnostic information very quickly, including one sample that was sent out to another office for professional diagnosis. That appointment took less than an hour and cost almost $500. Today I waited for 25 minutes after my appointment before my dehydrated cat could be seen to be administered fluids. The office was short staffed, so the hospital manager helped administer treatment. She did not know our cat's history or even the sex of the cat. She was very rude and asked her front desk clerk to flag our record. I asked why she was flagging the record. She said because she wanted to. I was not informed of how a flagged record may impact the quality of future treatment of our pets, so I am not comfortable returning to this business. I recommend looking for another clinic or hospital for pets.
