Gatestone & Co Contact Centres Inc has been ********* **, calling me 5 - 6 times a day with no messages left. No idea who is calling me over one monthly payment missed. I payed the entire credit card off and they still keep calling me. **** ** ***********Review from Bret N

A letter was sent dated June 24th. It took two weeks to get to me. That doesn't really leave much time to pay the bill. Also, do not offer an online payment method where there is none. I followed the instructions listed in the letter to pay online and it only showed me what was required to be paid but there was no option for making payment. As a collections agency, you need to do better at making it easier for people to pay, not more difficult.Review from Terri-Lynn S

I just tried to call to see if someone can help me and the lady *** ********* **** *** right off the bat was annoyed with me because she didn't understand my question. I just wanted help to find out why money is coming out of my account and NOT going towards my debts. I received correspondence from this company, then a person phoned me May 16, she did not identify herself, could hardly speak English, was extremely ****, and hung up on me. The matter they are contacting me about is a very old one, long done, however, these people are totally **************, I reiterate, extremely ****, and maybe that's how things are done in THEIR country, but not in Canada. I received a collections letter in the mail on April 30th, 2024, dd. April 22nd from Gatestone. I called the company on May 5th, and was told that my file was recalled by ****, and that there ARE no details now to provide me with as the file is no longer with them. The person I spoke with, A_K_, refused to put anything in writing re. the matter, or to send me a letter to explain that my file is closed as "it has been recalled by ****". This company did not verify the information and put a collection on my credit report. I have contact ******* *****, and credit bureaus. They are all contacting GS collection on my behalf now. ***** ******* I agreed to a settlement on my overdue account. They sent the settlement via Canada Post and it expired the same day it arrives. I called in and was told oh well too bad, now you pay the whole balance. Thank you for contacting Gatestone regarding a settlement offer you agreed to accept and to settle-in-full/SIF. Nevertheless, it appears that though the settlement offer is advantageous, it was not suitable (or opportune); hence there was no payment satisfying the debt.
Nevertheless, your complaint is taken seriously and the reason behind your complaint is addressed to prevent similar complaints in the future. Be advised that your creditor has invoked specified remedies regarding your situation. We advise that you keep current with your creditor.

Gatestone Co is reporting a collection account they do not own on my name was sold to another agency and was paid in full to that agency. Both original lender and secondary agency have reported the payment as paid in full. I have tried contacting Gatestone multiple times via phone and call will either drop after 10 minutes of wait time or will send me to a voicemail. Also, I sent multiple emails still there is no answer.Gatestone & Co Inc Response

Thank you for contacting Gatestone via the Kitchener BBB response portal (on August 17, 2022) Please be informed that the Office was able to locate an account in our technology system under the name or contact information provided through this media. The account has been paid-in-full/PIF (on August 24, 2022) and recalled by the Client on August 25, 2022. Henceforth the consumer will receive no further call from Gatestone regarding their PIF account. The Agency requests that the complainant please contact Gatestone & Co Inc. directly and provide verifiable validation information, as it relates to the caller and the caller ID; so, the Office can better assist, and if so, resolve this complaint of you/******* receiving calls from an unknown person and the Company won’t stop calling your phone number or your place of residence/POR. From a reasonable investigation conducted by the Agency (on March 10, 2023), we determine that the allegations of call inconvenience are INVALID, as the accounts notes revealed that on August 17, 2022 a call was placed at the phone number ending-3664 which was answered. However, the called party was hesitant to go through the accountholder authentication process as they believed it was a spam call. Nevertheless, the Agent tried to provide as much information about the caller, but the Agent could not proceed further with the called party - without first verifying the called party as the accountholder. Nonetheless, the assertions that the complainant received a call from: 1) an unknown person, 2) who did not provide any information, 3) who called without any caller ID, 4) who was asking the called party for their information, 5) who threatened with continued harassment, and 6) that the complainant have no idea what they/The Agent/Gatestone & Co Inc. was calling about is quite FALSE. It is, therefore, Gatestone’s position that no improper action was taken regarding this complainant as it relates to communication, telephone number, caller ID, calls, place of residence/POR, privacy, or conduct. The Agency considers this complaint resolved in the best interest of all impacted or affected. We advised that the complainant please contact GATESTONE/THE CLIENT - to resolve this complaint AMICABLY. Best Regards.
