Homeowners aren’t going to let just anybody into their homes

Paula Fleming, CMSO, shares her thoughts on the concept of business trust in September 2023.

Homeowners aren’t going to let just anybody into their homes, and why should they?

In today’s crazy world of scam artists, intruders, and general skepticism, gone are the days of people simply taking you at your word that you’re going to do the job and do it well.

What does it take to prove that you are worthy of entering if people give you the side-eye as you canvas a neighborhood or hang up before you’ve had a chance to share what your company does? It all comes down to trust. And with trust comes word of mouth in the neighborhoods you serve. And with word of mouth comes more jobs which equals more revenue for you.

So how do you go about building that trust? You have to prove you are a reliable and reputable plumber, contractor, electrician, handyman, or whatever business you’re in. One sure way to do that is by having the BBB Accredited seal on your door and work truck. The BBB seal says:

→ Your company meets BBB Standards

You also must.

→ Offer quality workmanship

→Clean up

→ Charges fair prices

→ Be insured

→ Guarantees it’s products and services

In other words, the BBB Seal says, “You can trust us!”

See how that works? Still not sure? Well, we’ve done our own research which shows that having the seal really does work.

  • 80% of consumer are familiar with BBB

  • 65% of consumers will recommend a business they trust

  • 60% of consumers are more likely to choose a BBB Member Accredited brand than one with a 5-star Google rating

If you combine the BBB Accredited seal on your front door and work vehicles with placement on your website, social media platforms, and business cards, just imagine the business that will come your way! Click HERE to find the right BBB membership plan for your business.
