Welcome to the Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York’s Resources page for National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) 2024 - an annual event created by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
This year's web page spotlights trending consumer fraud issues and provides tips on how to stay safer. Metro New York BBB has joined forces with the FTC and other Federal, State, and City government agencies, as well as a nonprofit organization, to host a live, online media event on March 5, 2024, focused on issues pertinent to consumers in the Metro New York area. The resources below include videos describing a trending type of scam and BBB's ScamTrackerSM resource; infographics depicting Metro New York area scams and business complaints consumers brought to BBB most often in 2023; and links to helpful information from other, collaborating organizations active in the consumer protection space.
To schedule an interview with Metro New York BBB President and CEO Claire Rosenzweig, or to get connected with consumers and collaborating organizations, please email lfenton[at]newyork.bbb.org, or call 212-358-2828.
