BBB Akron's Marketplace Education Initiative

Learn more about BBBME! Our complex marketplace demands educated, savvy consumers. The BBBME Initiative provides a variety of workshops and educational opportunities for consumers of all ages, from middle and high school students to senior citizens, programs for veterans' groups, families of active-duty military personnel and members of the business community.

BBBME is a series of presentations and workshops that educate topics stemming from BBB's core values. BBB Akron is actively presenting in our local communities to schools, community centers, detention and business groups. BBB also focuses on certain programs such as the Military & Veterans Initiative for veterans and their families.

In collaboration with the FINRA Foundation we deliver an educational training program on fraud prevention in local markets. The seminars can be delivered to virtually any group or business interested in learning how to protect their assets.

As a transient community, miltary personnel and their families are often the target of unscrupulous and predatory business practices. We believe that "Knowledge is Power" and "Financial Readiness Equals Mission Readiness."

This contest encourages high school-age kids in our community to engage on topics of trust and ethics. Students should see this as an opportunity to work with a trusted brand, and acquire practical skills in advertising, audio/video technology, graphic design, and storytelling with a purpose.

The Laws of Life Essay Contest is for students in grades 9-12 and encourages students to self-reflect and write about ethical principles based on the UncommonSense FRAMEWORK or a "law of life."
