Who is eligible to enter?
Each high school within BBB’s 7 1/2-county service area may nominate two students from the 2023-2024 senior class. Students must be present at the awards ceremony on May 14, 2024 to win.
What is the deadline for submission?
February 29, 2024
What will the recipients receive?
Five students will receive scholarships of $1,000 each, to be presented at the Torch Awards For Ethics event in Spring 2024.
Entry and judging criteria:
The contest is open to current high school seniors, who will be graduating in the Spring 2024. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges comprised of business leaders and members of the academic community. Judges will select recipients based on leadership, contributions to community and school, personal integrity and a written essay. Judges will score based on four elements: essay (35%), community service (30%), leadership (30%) and academics (5%).
