About Women in Business Networking of Dayton and Miami Valley

OUR MISSION: Helping Women Get From Where They Are To Where They Want To Be

WiBN exists to provide women opportunities to learn, grow and make business connections in safe, authentic environments. Through our four pillars: education, resources, recognition and connection, we create interactive programming and events designed by women, for women. We empower. We encourage. And, we advocate for each other.  All with one goal in mind; for the women of WiBN to take the next step on their own personal journey.

Within WiBN, you will find women from all walks of life. Women of different ages, ethnic origins, economic and social backgrounds. All bring with them a wealth of perspective, knowledge and skills from which we all learn and grow.

An important concept within WiBN is to be a connector. Connecting women to women gives opportunity for the support needed in making each woman a success. WiBN is not bound by rules of boundary, we believe that there is no competition except within ourselves. WiBN welcomes all women whether they are just entering the business world or the CEO in corporate.

History of WiBN

In 2008, a group of like-minded women, led by our Founder Jeanne Porter, gathered to discuss women working together to encourage and support each other both professionally and personally. This group, believed that the power of connecting could lead to growth and success. From that meeting, WiBN was born. In 2015, WiBN had grown in members and influence and became a program of your Better Business Bureau, in the Dayton and Miami Valley region.

WiBN Leadership Team

WiBN was founded by women, for women. WiBN's leadership happens mainly through volunteer efforts. We are counseled and led by our Leadership Team and BBB staff members. Together, we comprise a diverse and remarkable team working toward our mission - helping women get from where they are to where they want to be. Our volunteers and supporters are generous with their time, resources and ideas, actively working to improve the lives of women, their families and communities in the Miami Valley area.

The WiBN Leadership Team is responsible for overseeing the development and growth of WiBN in accordance with the strategy and maintains effective key community relationships. The team is comprised of about 25 members and meets on a bimonthly basis. Members serve for a 2-year term and can be reappointed. Members are selected by special committee and/or Executive Director . The leadership team has a chair, selected by the Executive Director. The leadership team meets as a body and, on occasion, forms subcommittees to explore issues in greater detail for consideration.
