As an outside resource, the Better Business Bureau® brings credence and relevance to nonprofits. The BBB plays an important role in helping local donors find a trustworthy place for their donations, but also in assisting charities to be transparent and operate with best practices. Our charity review program, based on the Wise Giving Alliance’s 20 Standards for Charity Accountability, helps local nonprofits demonstrate their commitment to donors and those they serve. Nonprofits that meet all 20 Standards are recognized as BBB Accredited Charities. The best part is the review and BBB Accreditation are completely free!

Charity Accreditation

The BBB Standards for Charity Accountability took three years to complete and included significant input from the charitable community. These standards are intended to represent the minimum acceptable behaviors for a charity soliciting the public.
