BBB Central Indiana's Torch Awards for Ethics is an annual awards program which publicly recognizes organizations that have established practices to elevate their commitment to ethical operations.

Designed to not only promote the importance of building trust, the Torch Awards also recognizes outstanding organizations' willingness and efforts to help contribute to an honorable marketplace.

Character of Leadership

As CEO, President, Owner or Executive Director - a leader's character sets the tone for the entire organization. This award recognizes leaders who behave intentionally and communicates with their leadership team, employees, customers and stakeholders in a way that is consistent with their beliefs.

Culture Built on Trust

When an organization has a thriving working environment, it shows in the way its employees thrive. This award recognizes organizations working toward a culture of trust through clarity of purpose, empowering employees, and opportunities for growth.

Commitment to Customers

Internal practices your organization uses to build better customer or donor relationships, helps build trust. This award recognizes organizations that go above and beyond to maintain transparency with customers or donors.

Impact in the Community

Building a better community extends beyond the products or services an organization may provide. This award recognizes organizations that display offers programs, contributions and activities that add value to our community.

Eligibility

The Torch Awards is open to for-profit, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) non-profit organizations of all sizes located within BBB Central Indiana’s service area. BBB Accreditation is not required, however the eligibility standards below must be met:

Business or organization is located within BBB central Indiana's 46 county service area.
For profit and 501(c)(6) applicants must have a “B” rating with BBB;
501(c)(3) non-profit applicants must complete the Charitable Standards Evaluation process and meet all BBB Standards for Charity Accountability;
Organizations must have been in business for three years;
All financial obligations must be met;
Applicants are not eligible if they have received the Torch Award in the past five years;
Government agencies are not eligible to submit an application.
