Scams Targeting Older Adults

This 1-hour program raises awareness about common scams targeting seniors and the tactics that scammers use. After this presentation, you should feel better-prepared to spot scams before falling victim.

Participants will learn to:

  • Recognize the red flags that let you know when something isn’t quite right
  • Spot the common tactics scammers use to manipulate their targets 
  • Understand steps you can take to avoid falling victim
  • Know where to go to report or research scams 

Scam Jams

BBB of MN and ND has partnered with AARP Minnesota to present Scam Jam events several times each year at different locations around Minnesota.

At these events you can expect to hear about scams targeting seniors, the latest information in fraud fighting and information pertaining to elder justice concerns.

There is a presentations piece, as well as time to visit the tables of other partner organizations working on behalf of seniors in the state.
