The BBB Spark Awards for Entrepreneurship celebrates emerging entrepreneurial businesses whose leaders demonstrate a high level of character, generate a culture that is authentic about its mission and genuinely connects with their community.

The Spark Awards application is open from Monday, September 9th through Monday, October 28th, 2024.

To be eligible for the Spark Award for Entrepreneurship, organizations must meet the following criteria and maintain them throughout the process:

• Businesses must be in operation for at least 6 months but not more than 3 years at the time of application. 
• Have headquarters located within BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming's 38 county service area.
• Maintain good standing with BBB by achieving and maintaining a "B" or higher rating and having no unresolved complaints. 
• Organizations need not be BBB Accredited but must be in good standing with BBB.

A company is not eligible if any of the following conditions apply:

• They have earned less than a "B" rating from BBB
• There are indications they have not met their financial obligations
• They are a government agency

• All businesses must complete the Spark Awards online application providing detailed, thoughtful and compelling responses to each question to be considered. 
• You are encouraged to provide any applicable supporting documentation you feel will best support your response.
• Applications must be accompanied by a simple, self-filmed phone video introducing your business to the judges and explaining how your business demonstrates the Spark criteria and why you believe your business is deserving of this highly competitive award (marketing videos are not acceptable).

An independent, voluntary panel of judges will take on the responsibility of reviewing, evaluating, and selecting winners of the Spark Award for Entrepreneurship awards. The judging panel is comprised of business and community leaders, BBB Board members and past Spark Award winners.

Spark Awards winners will be notified in December 2024. Winners will be honored at the 27th Annual Celebration of Ethics on April 22, 2025 at the Embassy Suites in Loveland, CO.
