I transported a vehicle with this company from **************, to ************. I paid in full for the transportation prior to shipment. The invoice included a link that declared that all vehicles and personal items transported were insured against damage. I also called and confirmed that the vehicle was insured against damage during transport. I was told that all vehicles were insured and all drivers carried liability insurance as well. When the vehicle arrived, the rear bumper was dented and the front license plate was missing. The driver was very apologetic, and complained of being overworked. He stated that the trailer he had been given to drive was dangerously under maintained, and that a spare tire mount had broken off during his drive, causing him to drive over the spare tire on the freeway. The tire ricocheted up and dented the bumper and did other damage to the trailer before bouncing off down the freeway. The driver pulled over, and ran back to get the tire, which he then attached to the trailer with bungie cords and straps. He showed me the damaged spare tire attached to the trailer. He told me to call his dispatcher to get the repair done for the bumper and he gave me her number. I called and she said she would take care of it, but she never did, and then the number stopped working. I have attempted to resolve the issue with CFR Rinkens directly, but they are giving me a royal run around and saying that the vehicle wasn't insured; that that was optional and an extra charge that I didn't pay, despite what the invoice says, and what their own representative told me and wrote me in an email. I only want a refund for the cost of the repair, not of the entire cost of shipment. The repair cost me $868.88. The total cost of shipment was $*******.
