Deceptive, unreliable and overpriced! The salesman lied about how much power the system would make. He said I would only have a power bill in the summer months and that would be low. The system makes 1/3 of what he promised. He also said the panels were high quality and they definitely do look high quality. The salesman was smooth and I was foolish. I didn't do my research and got suckered into paying 30% more than the top end of a reasonable average cost. He started out with a quote of $60k and we settled on $43k. This is now the reason I can't ******* home. They are a preditory business. I am just sick with regret. I called a lawyer but I have no proof of the lies I was told. He said even if I sue and win it would cost me what I owe on the system in legal fees. Now my system has not been working for over 3 months. My electricity payments are on autopay so eventually I realized my bills are too high and that I have a ptoblem. When they set the system up they told me they would monitor it remotely using my wifi. They clearly lied about that because they would have noticed an issue months ago if they were monitoring it. I called multiple times to get a tech to come out to fix it. They gave me an appointment (after a month of calling). I called to confirm and the lady said the appointment was canceled and someone was supposed to have called me. Now I have an appointment but have to wait an additional 3 weeks. So my system will have been broken for over 4 months by the time someone comes to see it. ****** is a terrible company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH KIN HOME SOLAR!

I actually just used Kin Home. They knocked on my door 2-3 weeks ago talking about rates increase and alliant sent the notice. I remember seeing it. The *** seems cool and was very confident but I was VERY skeptical because I don't like solicitors nor do l believe in solar. However I wanted to get more information and see what the catch was or why they're knocking in my neighborhood. Told me it's alliant program and they don't work for alliant, they just see who can quality for the ********** l set an appointment for the energy consultant so see if I could qualify for the program. I did research kin and read reviews, feedback, and hearing other people's story's. So l was super super skeptical!! However the gentleman that arrived was very knowledgeable. He knew what he was talking about and what the program actually meant. I asked so many questions and he answered them in every way possible. To tell you the truth the program did say what it was supposed to say and I did it.Yes the communication could be better because I haven't heard really anything about my installation or when it will be. However, they were definitely in home contractors that only worked for ***. In all honesty I didn't have a problem at all with Kin. I love my solar and my bill is super cheap and I got my tax credit. But to all who is skeptical sometimes it's good to take a chance and I'm glad I did. Thank you kin home.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Kin Home! We completely understand the initial skepticism, especially when it comes to something as important as your home and energy. We're so glad you gave us the opportunity to show you what we're about.
Its great to hear that our team was able to walk you through the program clearly and answer your questions with care and transparency. Your trust means a lot to us, and were thrilled to know youre enjoying your solar setup and seeing those lower energy bills (plus the tax credit always a nice bonus!).
We also really appreciate your feedback about communication during the installation phase. Thats an area were actively working to improve, and your input helps us do that even better.
Thanks again for taking a chance on Kin and welcome to the solar family!
    Warmly,
    The Kin Home Team ??

Kin Home made my solar happen -- a few snags here and there, but challenges are to be expected with any major home upgrade. Communication was a plus especially on the retention side with ***** ******-- big shout out! Overall a good experience thus far and would recommend that fit what they offer!

*****, the sales person, stopped by my place to discuss solar. I was interested enough to proceed with an in-home presentation. ***** did a thorough job of presenting everything to me. He made it very easy to understand. After talking with some neighbors, they also felt the same way. I am awaiting the next steps for the installation.

Working with Kin Home has been an absolute nightmare. When the panels were installed, the installer left the system in the ON position, causing my next electric bill to be 58% higher than any neighbor in my neighborhood. Kin Home told me that it was my excessive electric use, even thought I had not made any chances to my house or lifestyle. The next bill came in, extremely high. I shut the system off after reading ****** reviews of similar things happening and my usage miraculously went to normal. I fought with Kin Home for about 6 weeks with them telling me it was my fault, only to tell them I was not letting this go and I was going to continue my research, I was then told it was the system being inadvertently on and agreeing to send me $400 towards my bill. That was a month ago. I live in **** so when the snow melted off my panels, I noticed one of them was shattered/broken on the side. That was 3 weeks ago I notified them about that and still nothing, only to be told they would check with the "Chief Construction Officer." And talking about the snow, I was told by the initial salesman, ***** *******, that the panels were warm due to electricity running through them that would melt the snow. That was a question I was specific concerned about due to living in ****. I was then told that was not true, that the panels were black and the sun would melt them faster. This winter there was snow on the panels for 2 straight months waiting for the system to be "ok-*** so does that mean next winter I won't have use of them unless I risk my life to climb on the roof to clear them. I got oky doked by Kin Home. I am being pushed to the side, gaslighted, and have an $80,000 tax/kickback incentive filled system that appears not be tax/kickback incentive filled. I was told by the initial salesman and CPA for Kin Home that 80%-90% of my system would be paid for through tax breaks and kickbacks. Not looking that way. I got hosed. Please think twice before going solar.

Going solar with Kin Home was the worst financial error I have made in my over 70 years of life. First, the salesman promised that a tree would be trimmed for no cost to us, but the company never heard about it. However, after A LOT of calls, texts, and emails the company finally had the tree trimmed. Second, to date we cannot get a straight answer as to if when our electrical use is greater than our solar generation do we owe the electrical company the difference. The salesperson did say that we would get a credit for any solar generated electricity over our use, Kin Home told us to contact our electrical company and our electrical company told us to contact Kin Home. Third, they messed with our electrical panel and I wanted to know what was done to it. I was told someone would get back to me ****. That was 2 weeks ago and when I called a 2nd time I was essentially. told "Don't call us, we'll call you". Don't sign with the salesperson there. Give yourself several days to review it. Before signing with them have a lawyer look over the contract - which by the way you only have 3 days to legally withdraw from after signing.

I was quoted 4-6 weeks for an installation in my area from beginning of construction to final inspection through the electric provider. Well, it has been nearly 20 weeks, and still no word on what is taking this long. I have spoken with the company every two weeks at the latest, always requesting and being told I would get a call from the project manager within a few days. I have done this cycle 5 times and have not received one phone call or one answer as to what the hold up is. They were great from initial contact to the physical install on the roof, but tying into the existing electric system, inspections, and general customer service is absolutely c***

Been very good to work with! The local electric company has made it a longer journey than it had to be but ****** was great getting me answers and all the people that came to my house. Now, been in contact with Bri, and she has been just incredible to work with and getting me finally able to use me solar. Bri gets an A plus and just so pleasant and nice. Thanks to her and ****** and all Kin.
