POOR CUSTOMER WARRANTY SERVICE - The new Weather Shield patio door I purchased 7 years ago (2017), now has a bulge in the vinyl frame corner of the sidelight, has a mullion cover strip over the jump studs that has come loose, and the vinyl has faded such that the doors look like they are 14 years old rather than 7 years. Being only 7 years old and under warranty, I contacted Omaha Door & Window Co. (ODW) to which they sent out a Tech on 3/26 who took pictures and said he would send them off to Weather Shield and would call me back once he heard from Weather Shield. After awhile and not hearing back, I called the Tech and left a message to which he called and I was told that he had not heard back from Weather Shield and would call again and then call me back once he had any information. Ok, after waiting again and not hearing anything from ODW I called and asked for an update but this time I asked to have the Weather Shield Rep stop by and look at my door instead of waiting for Weather Shield to merely look at the pictures. On 5/23 I received a voice-mail from ODW indicating that they contacted the Rep and had relayed my request. Now it was June and just as the months before, I had not heard anything back from ODW, I called on 6/25 and was told that Weather Shield wasn't going to do anything about my issues, not even scheduling the Rep to stop by to take a look. This had now taken all of 3 MONTHS. When asked of ODW what they would do for me, they indicated nothing since Weather Shield wasn't going to do anything. ODW didn't even offer to come out and fix the mullion cover. I guess it's thanks customer for your order and now it's bye-bye.

Omaha Door and Window agrees with our customer regarding the warping and discoloration of his Weather Shield vinyl patio door. We have sent numerous pictures following up with phone calls to the manufacturer. Weather Shield claims that the patio door problems are normal wear and tear and will not honor their warranty even though the warranty covers warping after seven years’ time. ODW discontinued selling Weather Shield’s products due to their reluctance to stand behind the quality of their windows and patio doors. ODW does not agree with Weather Shield’s assessment of the problems. We have offered a solution and are waiting for our customer’s response to proceed. We hope this problem can be resolved to our customer’s satisfaction
