I am 58 years old, and permanently disabled on SSDI. I simply cannot afford an arbitrary $600 annual increase, and I have not had one single accident or claim!!My most recent online review of NJM:If I could give this crooked organization zero stars, I would. After being with them for two years without even a single claim, they suddenly hit me with a whopping $600 increase in car insurance premiums! They then went on to offer up some lame excuse about two rate increases hitting my policy at the same time! Oh well, see ya!!New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company Response

Not BBB accredited. Should be the first hint this business is sub par. Signed up for insurance 7/23. Everything was fine then my engine blew out. My car has been in the shop for months so the car insurance payment wasnt paramount. It totally slipped my mind on the March payment and instead of calling me they just cancelled my policy. Huh? Its not like an owed them anything it was just a late payment. If thats how they treat their customers then glad I got out. I went to GEICO for less anyways! REMOVED A CAR FROM MY POLICY AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THAT I WOULD GET A CREDIT AND I WOULD NOT HAVE A PAYMENT DUE UNTIL THE RENEWAL. COUPLE MONTHS LATER I FIND OUT THEY CANCELED MY POLICY WITH NO CALLS OR NO LETTERS. WHEN I FOUND OUT, I CALLED IMMEDIATELY TO FIX THIS ISSUE, THEY SAID I COULD NOT GET REINSTATED AT ALL. I'VE BEEN WITH THIS COMPANY FOR OVER 26 YEARS AND MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN WITH THIS COMPANY FOR 50 YEAR. IN 26 YEAR I'VE ONLY HAD 1 SMALL CLAIM 20 YEARS AGO. CUSTOMER REP AND UNDERWRITER WERE NO HELP WHAT SO EVER. ITS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY CAN CANCEL A POLICY AND NOT CONTACT THE CUSTOMER TO LET HIM KNOW ABOUT IT.New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company Response

Today 12/30/2023 I received a letter from Njm insurance accusing me of lying to the bbb Saying that I lied when I said that they didn't pay me for repairs or rental or wedges lost I didn't know how exactly I am the lier here when to this day I didn't receive any payments from them I provide them with everything they asked for and they still looking for excuses not to pay Be aware and find a trustworthy insurance company Do your homework before you insure something with themNew Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company Response

Do NOT use this company! I have been consistently discriminated against by several NJM employees and their upper management. In New Jersey it has been legal since 2015 to show your insurance card downloaded to your smartphone. NJM has YET to implement this capability for its policy holders. That means if you need a new insurance card for whatever reason, you CANNOT legally drive your car until that new insurance card arrives in the mail. I believe NJM is the only insurance company in ** that does not have this capability. NJM is the worst insurance company in the state of new jersey, If you have an accident NJM will make your life a living ****, they will make the check out to the insured and finance company, so it will take you week if not months getting the finance company to endorse it. so NJM keeps your money in their bank account longer, every other insurance company pays your body direct, so you can get your vehicle back ASAP, but if you go to the shop NJM recommends, Funny thing, they pay them with no finance company on the check, but your vehicle most likely will not be put back to pre accident condition. because those shops are out to help the insurance, not the insured.New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company Response

I switched from State Farm to NJM because they had good reviews. I had 3 policies switched over - auto, homeowners, and umbrella. When I was finalizing the auto policy, they said I could get a discount for completing a driver course within 3 years. I sent them one from 2021 but they said they only accept 4 approved courses. So, my husband and I took the 7 hour course and submitted the certificate. Now they're saying they can't use it because it can only be applied at renewal!Why was this not said at the beginning, before we both wasted a lot of time (14 hours total) and money to complete the course? I would have gone to another company or enrolled for the course before I switched over, or maybe just before my renewal date because the certificate is only good for 3 years. And they only give yearly policies so I effectively just wasted 1 year of the certificate.Thanks NJM, not I'm not even sure if I want to renew with you because of your deceptive practices.New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company Response
