Awful! They said my furnace was so dirty with carbon it was dangerous to run and they wanted to charge me $1000 to clean it. I called in another company that would charge less than $200 to clean it and they said it was perfectly fine. Didn't need a cleaning at all! The unit was carbonized so we advised it needed to be cleaned and quoted a price to have it thoroughly cleaned so that it would operate safely. If you found someone to clean it properly for less that is your choice as a consumer. Our price was based on completely brushing out the heat exchanger tubes with a microfiber brush and then removing all the soot from inside the unit and brushing clean the gas burners and the boiler sections and removing additional soot and debris with a burner vacuum. Done properly this would take several hours and that is what we based the quote on. Our pricing is based on our costs, and we are fully insured and licensed and we keep our service technicians are in fully stocked trucks and they are continuously trained so they can diagnose and repair problems like this on many different types of heating equipment. If you got the same job we would have done for less thats great and we wish you the best. We would advise having working carbon monoxide detectors in your home to ensure if the same problem reoccurs you will be aware of it before it becomes a safety issue.
